I am Swedish, my husband is English. We live in England.
When it's just me and the children, I speak Swedish to them. When my husband is there, I'll speak Swedish if my husband doesn't need to be following the conversation, and English if we are all talking together. I don't know if I'm doing it wrong but my children aren't as fluent in Swedish as I'd like them to be. They struggle to have a conversation with my parents over the phone. I hate this. How can I get them to speak Swedish better?
My husband speaks Spanish to the kids and everything in the house is Spanish and I speak English to the kids… Sometimes Spanish. When we are out… I speak both to them.
