Consistent kicks timeframe

So when will we start feeling kicks consistently on a daily basis? And when do we start counting kicks and how are we supposed to do that?

I'm 21 weeks and only started feeling regular daily movement last week. Only when I'm sitting still or laying down and I have an anterior placenta. You wont start kick counts until after 24 weeks. But if you go from regularly feeling a lot of movement to none at all it is worth mentioning to your doc. "Here's one common approach: Choose a time of day when your baby tends to be active. (Ideally, you'll want to do the counts at roughly the same time each day.) Sit quietly or lie on your side so you won't get distracted. Time how long it takes for you to feel ten distinct movements kicks, punches, and whole body movements all count. If you don't feel ten movements in two hours, stop counting and call your midwife or doctor." - Fetal movement: Feeling your baby kick | BabyCenter

I never actually "counted kicks." It was more about recognizing your baby's shcedule... does he or she move at about the same time?

I am almost 18 weeks and I've been feeling movement for a couple of weeks... mostly at night when I'm relaxed... and it's sporadic.

I have been feeling movement for weeks, it's just inconsistent. I can have a couple of days with lots of movement and then 2-3 days of not as much. I don't have days with no movement at all, it just still varies in intensity and regularity. On some days I see a pattern and then I have a few days like this past weekend when I felt less than before.
I'll wait till 24 weeks to start counting then.

This is how I am at this point. I felt some flutters pretty early in my 2nd trimester, but very very random and would go a week without feeling one again. I just within the last few days started feeling a lot more movement but it is still irregular and sporadic! Sometimes I can feel distinct kicks, and other times it just feels like strange little movements. I consider it to be totally normal at this point!

I haven't felt anything at all hardly yet. MAYBE once or twice when I am sitting kinda slouching at the computer. I also have an anterior placenta, so hopefully soon. This is the only one out of the 7 that has been like this and it's disappointing and hard to get excited about anything when you don't feel anything.

Re: Consistent kicks timeframe

My movements became consistent, as in around the same active periods daily, about 2-ish weeks ago. I can't remember when it's recommended to actually start kick counting, but 24-28weeks sounds about right. I never actually did kick counts, either, just more or less paid attention to their resting periods vs active periods. If they were unusually quite in their normal active times, I'd try all the things to get them to move, drink something cold and sugary, eat, lay still, etc. That would usually get them moving and ease my mind. I don't think inconsistent movement is a concern until several more weeks!

Re: Consistent kicks timeframe

It was sometime between 18-19 weeks when it become consistent for me. There are certain times she's more active but there have also been a couple days i've hardly felt her at all. Because they are sometimes just less active i'm glad i have a doppler this time to make sure all is okay when movement isn't quite as reliable. As for counting, i never really did that either. As the others mentioned I am just aware of the usual pattern and try to pay attention to how often i'm feeling her.
