Over stimulation?

Does your baby get over stimulated much, or not at all?

Oh yes.. trying to put one overstimulated fella to sleep right now! With a toddler at home this happens quite often.

Not yet. E doesn't really wake up long enough to get over stimulated.

George seems to have a problem nursing in public. I think he gets overstimulated in noisy environments, which makes feeding him really hard!! :(

For those with babies who are easily over stimulated or those who've had children like that, what do you do during events like church and other outings? Do they outgrow this?

This is hard. For me it is always sleep associated so I try to put him to sleep by rocking standing up. He has a favorite position. I make sure that the noise is constant and avoid sharp sounds that can wake him up. I do not recall having this problem with my older son, but I hope they grow out of it. One thing is sure, keep going out and he will get used to it.

Kira has had 1 bout of being really over-stimulated when she got to meet her grandma, aunt, and cousins the other day... she was really crabby the whole rest of the night. We did get her to sleep, but not for long.

I wonder if Hannah gets over stimulated as well since her most fussy period is in the evening after she's had a full day of noise and everything going on around her.
