Music :)

I've always been a big music lover. I went from being raised on country and soft adult contemporary to loving heavy metal and rock ONLY and then it spread out to just about everything EXCEPT country and rap. I go through periods of an extreme need to listen to music daily, to just listening to the radio in the car. I'm currently going through a period of listening to music daily and for long stretches of time while doing stuff around the house. This song has been played multiple times a day. When I first heard it, I loved it, but I connected it with my relationship with my SO. Now when I listen to it, it's all about the baby and I cry EVERY time. I can't help it. So, for the other music lovers around, what songs are your addiction right now? For any reason, not just baby.

I'm really into Muse's new album, I think its excellent and I listen to it quite often. They're music just moves me... likes I feel it in my bones. But I've also been listening to a lot of Johnny Cash, Metallica, and Ministry.

We've also been playing the Fresh Beat Band CD much too often... that I could go without for a day or two.

I listen to everything from Rap, rock, RnB,Country, Blues....basically I listen to everything. It could be a song from 80 years ago or something brand new. But a song that's been in my head lately is Lynyrd Skynyrd-Simple Man. Although I love Shinedowns cover of the same song. And its cuz I can't wait to sing it to my little man. I always said if I had a son I would sing this song to him.

(Gary Rossington - Ronnie VanZant)

Mama told me when I was young
Come sit beside me, my only son
And listen closely to what I say.
And if you do this
It'll help you some sunny day. Oh Yah!
Oh, take your time... Don't live too fast,
Troubles will come and they will pass.
You'll find a woman, yea yea, you'll find love,
And don't forget son,
There is someone up above.

(Chorus)
And be a simple, kind of man.
Oh be something, you love and understand.
Baby be a simple, kind of man.
Oh, won't you do this for me son,
If you can?

Forget your lust, for the rich man's gold
All that you need, is in your soul,
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.

(Chorus)

Boy, don't you worry... you'll find yourself.
Follow your heart, lord, and nothing else.
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try.
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfied.

(Chorus)

Baby be a simple, be a simple man.
Oh be something, you love and understand.
Baby be a simple, kind of man. (Fade out)

Re: Music :)

I listen to SO much different music, however, the one song I've been listening to 90% of this pregnancy, to the point Arthur gets all excited when it comes on, is "Song of the Lonely Mountain" from The Hobbit. I fell in love with it when we went and saw The Hobbit back in December, and I got the soundtrack for Christmas and it's been on repeat...it's even on my playlist for labor :) DH is convinced that Arthur is going to be born needing to go on a quest for the dwarves gold LOL

I love all music...it was a constant growing up that has stayed with me. Except country - I just don't connect to any of it.

Re: Music :)

I also listen to every genre of music. Mostly I listen to country, classic rock, and 90s alternative (think Green Day). I used to listen to a lot of pop/top 20 stuff but after hearing the same songs over and over and over and over for 3 hours straight every weeknight when I was working at the gym, I can't even listen to it on the radio anymore lol. There's no specific song that stands out for me at the moment, I just love music in general, though I have been listening to Phillip Phillips new cd a lot lately!

I listen to all kinds of music. I mostly have the current pop/hip hop on the radio in the car, but sometimes I get tired of that. Today I was listening to Zac Brown Band and Mumford & Sons for a change of pace.
