Flying at 31-33 Weeks

Has anyone ever flown around 31-33 weeks pregnant? What airline and were they OK with it? I'm planning on flying back to NC next week (31.5 weeks and I would be flying home right at 33 weeks). I just talked to my midwives, and they are OK with it, just gave me some tips for flying, but said to check with the airline (probably Delta, my Mom's booking it tonight). Just curious of others experiences! I hate flying to begin with, flying at 32 weeks pregnant with a toddler is gonna be FUUUUUN!!!!!!:eek:

I think most airlines say 36 weeks you may need written premission from your midwives.

According to deltas site they have no restrictions on pregnant women.

I'm flying next week at 32 weeks, and expect no problems. I flew in other pregnancies up to around that point and did fine. Just be sure to get up every 1-2 hours if it is a long flight. And drink lots of water.

Flying? Mmm no thank you. This girl keeps her feet on the ground. But I've heard 36 weeks is the limit.

I have not done it - the opportunity never presented itself. I say go for it so long as you have not had issues with preterm labor (then you don't want to be that far from home). I would drink lots and try to stand once in a while. Try to have fun.

Ditto...In general, I believe 36 weeks is the limit but def check your specific airline's policies. I flew AA around 33wks with DS and had no problems...I wasn't even questioned. I just made sure to drink plenty of water and walk around the plane occasionally for circulation.

Ugh, tell me about Karry! LOL I can count on one hand how many times I've flow in my life, it just plain sucks! I much prefer a road trip but I just don't think I want to sit in a car for 8+ hours AGAIN one way. So I'm trying to tell myself that flying will be much faster and easier......

Thanks for all the advice everyone!

Yeah I'm not sure what the flight restrictions are per airline but I know my doctors rule is not past 32 weeks and no longer than an hour in the car without a break for a walk and stretching. At 35 weeks they don't even want you traveling further than an hour and a half from home period.
