Crafty people, help!!

So I've had this pinned to my nursery board since day 1...unfortunately, the person selling them on etsy has been "away" since the beginning, I don't think she's making them anymore! :( So I'm going to attempt it myself (I can't find anything similar on there, everything is the whole name and like $10 per letter, no way I'm paying $60!!)....the letter and color is the easy part, I did similar for Connor's room. I'm thinking I can find some sort of sticky white circles to use as the polka dots, so I don't have to paint them or attempt the mod podge route. I'll already have paint from her walls that match the nursery bedding.

The hard part is those letters. I'm guessing it's cardstock? Any easy tips on how I can do them by hand? I tried searching etsy for the cardstock letters, and found some but they are too big, I'm guessing the ones used here are like an inch or 1.5". Thoughts? Ideas? Help me? lol :D Thanks!!

Get the big letter at Hobby Lobby. Look for scrapbooking paper with pink and white polka dots on it. The Mod podge, I know you do not want to do that but it may be the easiest way. Full name look in the scrapbooking section also, I'm sure you can find some there. Then outline the big letter in the pink ribbon. add your little ribbons.

I was going to suggest the same thing. It may be the easiest besides buying them pre made already by someone online!

I can't find the directions or direct link to this one but here is a photo from Pinterest showing another idea of taking stencils and mod podge on the letter and then trimming off the excess

The modge podge is super easy, but if you don't want to go that route, you could search for vinyl letters.

Ok, so if I mod podge...I paint the mod podge on the letter then lay it flat on the scrapbook paper and wait for it to dry...easy enough. I'm worried that once I xacto the paper off, the edges will be jagged and look horrible on the letters. Does it come off fairly easily? Is there an easy way or trick to it?

I modge podge the wood, then put a layer of modge podge over the paper. It dries clear and you can use your fingers or a brush to smooth down the edges if they are rough.
