I have a weird OT question
We live in NC... We moved into our apartment at the end of April. Since may the ceiling started leaking from up stairs from the ac unit in the apartment above us.. They "fixed" the problem.. But it isn't fixed.. Water is still leaking and has actually gotten worse.. Even pouring out a light in the hall.. And in to the kitchen.. We have reported it many times and its not fixed yet.. Also the toilet in the hall/guest bath has been broken for over 3 weeks.. Maybe even another.. It was before Avari was born and we have asked for them to fix it 2-3 times already.. Now to add to the fun we have killed 12 horse flies and there are still some flying around.. Then early this morning we saw a mouse in the house..James and I are fed up and ready to just pack up and leave.. But we are in this lease until June 2014.. Does any one know if we can rightfully break our lease to be able to move some where else??

I may be able to help. I am a Regional Manager for a national management company. The laws vary by states, but if you can email a copy of your lease to me, I will let you know what your rights are and the proper way to proceed.
1st, if you have not submitted the maintenance requests in writing, then do so today. In your written request, be sure to document each time it has been reported and the outcome. You will want to call and ask for the property manager and tell them it is important. If you don't get an immediate response, then go to the Regional office (If you will email me the name of your complex or the management company - I can probably find it for you)
