More CD questions

So it occurred to me I need somewhere to put the diapers when they are dirty. So you mamas that CD what do you put your dirty diapers in. A diaper pail? A wet bag? I seen a lot of the dipes said not to put them in a wet pail between washings...iI'm assuming this means not putting in a pail with water? Also should I get a small wet bag for dirty diapers when we are out somewhere?

I use a large hanging wet bag and I have a smaller one for the diaper bag.

I bought a step on plastic garbage pail with a lid and a few different pail liners. I like Rump Arounds pail liner, but others swear by Planet Wise. For travel we use Rump Arounds travel wet bags but there are a ton of them floating around from different companies that work just as well :)

We use 2 hanging wet bags that get rotated (wash them with the diapers inside-out). I had 2 Fuzzibunz ones for over 2 years that finally started delaminating so now I have 2 Wolbybugs ones. I also have a variety of smaller zipping bags for on the go or sending to preschool.

You really don't need all that. Any kitchen pail type thing will do. You don't even *need* a liner, but obviously you'll want to rinse it out or clean it pretty often. I have heard some people do this with no issue. You can also use a regular throwaway bag in there instead of a reusable one. Like anything else, the reusable kind costs more up front but will save you money in the long run.

People also use old plastic bags, bread or produce bags, etc to transport dirty diapers on the go. Slightly less secure but not necessarily a big deal. I keep a few stashed in my purse and the car just in case I'm caught without a real wet bag.

But don't use Kroger's grocery bags! The ink rubs off on the diapers :(

I have a kitchen trash can with a swinging lid and a Planet Wise pail liner. I have an assortment of wet bags for on the go- a small one that fits 1-2 diapers, and a medium wet/dry bag (zipper pouch for clean, dry diapers separate from lined dirty compartment) that holds about 5 diapers

I have a small wet bag in my diaper bag for travel and an XL one at home I use to throw the dirty ones in. I finally bought a second bag to swap out during washes. I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE my bags from etsy, monkey foot designs, they are SOOO awesome and cute and made so well!!

Re: More CD questions

I really like the idea of a wet bag. I just purchased a super cute one for the diaper bag. And I have narrowed it down to two large wet bags that I like for at home. Both hold about the same difference. One does not have a zipper and then other does...Does a zipper really help keep in the smell on the wet bags? So what do you all think...zippered fox print....or unzippered jungle print?

Re: More CD questions

Zippers definitely hold in the smell. But at home, I prefer the non zip ones. Having a little airflow actually helps keep the stink down overall. Although we do rinse the toddler poppy ones very well (with a diaper sprayer) and spray a little bac out before wringing out, which is quite necessary to keep odors down for us! EBF baby diapers aren't too bad at all though. Sposies smell much worse and I think it is from the fragrance chemicals reacting with the pee or something.

I got a planet wise hanging bag that has two seperate compartments for wet and dry so I can take it with for overnight trips or vacation if I need too.

I have a white trash can with a lid right by my changing table. I have two planet wise liners I rotate between. They get washed with my diapers. I have small wet bags for diaper bag.

I can't remember what the brand of wetbags I have is. But I have two, to rotate between washings. I also have a small one for the diaper bag. I use a kitchen trash can with a step pedal to open it. My wet bags are zippered also.
