I think the clue is being
 
I think the clue is being consistent. No baby talk, reading & singing all day long. As soon as I brought my baby home I started reading to him. Now he is 19 months counts up to 13, identify the letters & love reading.

reading books and singing nursery rhymes would be a big factor of the improvement of your kids vocabulary..no baby talk..
