i think number 5 is not accurate. when you need things that are not food DO NOT buy from the drug store because they are over priced!! buy from the dollar store! family dollar always has the best price.

Sorry, you're incorrect. Yes, the average person buying things from a drugstore will overpay. But a smart shopper who uses coupons and takes advantage of the rewards programs at drugstores like CVS, Walgreens, and Rite-Aid will get what they want for pennies. Or even get paid to take things home. I have an entire closet full of products that I guarantee I paid a lot less for than anything the dollar store has to offer.

ITA! I just went to Walgreens this weekend and got 3 razors and one shave gel totally for free. They were on sale and I had a coupon for $4 off. I get lots of things for free at Walgreens.

I agree, I tend to avoid the drugstore unless that is the only thing around. They are generally over priced and even on sale, it's still pricey. I would say, do non-grocery items at Target or Walmart. They tend to be more price conscious.

On #5, I think they are talking about drugstores like CVS and Walgreens. A lot of women I know get stuff really cheap there when they combine coupons and store rewards, etc. Next month, I'm going to do a sort of "grocery diary" and record all the money my family spends on food, what we buy and what we eat - complete with recipes. I'm going to post all of this information throughout the month of November on my website. I think it will be eye-opening, both for me and my visitors.

I wish I could find coupons easily. I never really know where to look, and we don't get the paper. But any helpful advice is welcome, and I really like how simple this is.

There is really no need to use coupons in the grocery store. As long as you have the card they offer for free, you get the same sales that are in the news paper.

Combining coupons and sales is great, and now there are services that will help you find the sales for a small monthly fee. I'm horrible at paperwork and couponing but still manage to stock up on the basics a few times a year. The big ones are cereal, peanut butter and sauces. My grocery store puts them in bulk items or as loss leaders about twice a year and so I pick up enough for the next six months at a fraction of the cost. I use coupons and savings from my prescriptions to buy things like toothbrushes for nearly free from CVS, but otherwise try not to shop there.

Mothers are the ones who shop for the families' needs such as foods, equipments and etc. Economic conditions in America are still dismal.
