Regular vs Walking Epidural
So for those of you that support an Epi birth, which would you recommend and why? Pros and Cons? I know that I want an epi for sure but am torn between the two.
Re: Regular vs Walking Epidural
regular epi completely stalled my labor. I had to sit up at some point to get the labor going but that meant that the epi would not work around my abdomen area (when you sit up, the medicine stops going to all the places it is supposed to reach). I did not care because I was having back labor (where all the pain is in lower back so not in the front abdomen area). I also did not want pitocin because of it's side effects (strong contractions exerting pressure on the baby), so once I sat up, the labor resumed and my pain level did not change. If I ever had to give birth again, I'd choose an option where I am definitely not flat on my back.
