Fixing thirsties covers

So I am loosing the tabs and some of the main velcro on my covers. Do I need to use a certain kind of velcro and what kind of thread needle, etc. I don't wanna start wicking.

Make sure you use 100% polyester thread, as cotton will wick. Anytime you are working with PUL it is recommended to use ball point needles, but I've used regular needles at times and it's been okay. I think any kind of velcro will be fine, but some is stiffer and scratchier than others which can irritate baby's skin if it rubs against it. I find I have less of this if I sew very close to the edge, and/or use velcro that doesn't have a plastic-y edge on it.

You should throw it in the dryer on hot for 10 to 15 minutes when you're done to help seal the needle holes. Good luck!

I've used regular needles on PUL with no issue - but I do use the really super sharp ones. Ditto to the polyester thread. :)

Re: Fixing thirsties covers

Would this work to fix pin size holes in bummi super whisper wraps? The reuse store I bought mine at punched their tags right into the cover (fortunately near the top). They're very small holes and I wondered if I could sew like 3 lines or an X pattern over the hole. But I thought that might make it worse (adding more holes).
