Going crazy with worry
I am so afraid I am going to miscarry. I have had light spotting for the last few weeks and know this is normal, but the color has varied and this has me worried... I made an appt. today for fetal foto to have an U/S just to see the baby in there. She said this early, we will be chancing it, but it's worth it to try if by chance it does ease my peace of mind.

This morning I woke up feeling good, yesterday I was a little queasy. Walking my kids to school I felt like I had better breathing, etc. Just little things like that. I want the full on symptoms noooow!!!!

I know there's nothing I can do, and if I do miscarry, I will be ok, it's just not knowing that bothers me.

Has anyone ever had an u/s this early with success?

I haven't had ultrasounds that early, but I will be thinking of you! Hope everything turns out alright! KUP

Re: Going crazy with worry
I have had a successful ultrasound at 5 weeks with a cornual pregnancy. But they dont like to do them until six weeks at least because if they dont see anything its just going to stress you out and it wouldn't necessarily mean anything bad if they can find your little bean right now.

Thanks, ladies. I canceled my appt. You're right, if I don't see anything it will just make me worry more and I will be out $80. I haven't had any other testing done. I decided I am just going to CHILL!!! Worrying is part of being a mom but I need to control it!

Re: Going crazy with worry
I know what you mean about worrying. I have been trying to remain relaxed and positive but now my worry is coming out at night time and I dream about miscarrying or having dreams about there being signs that I am going to miscarry. I am so sorry that you are having spotting. Have they done repeat betas to check that the numbers are rising for you? I would think they would if you were spotting. I know my ob said they would if there was anything bothering me or if I had spotting or bleeding. That should give you a good indication too I would hope and would probably be a cheaper way to ease your mind.

Re: Going crazy with worry
Spotting can be normal. I spotted for twelve weeks - hemorrhaged twice - and had a perfectly healthy baby. I had a subchorionic hematoma (a blood clot) between the placenta and my uterus. It was absolutely terrifying, but shockingly, it was harmless. Lots of women have them and have healthy babies. Spotting is scary - but it doesn't mean something bad is happening!

Re: Going crazy with worry
An u/s at this point would really be a crap shoot. Could you ask for them to check your Betas though? That might at least give you some idea what is going on. Hugs!!!

HUGS!! You are right to just chill and try and relax. I think at this stage, a blood test be more accurate (and cheaper) than an u/s if your doctor will order one. Take some deep breaths and get some rest!
