fund raisers

Does your child's school do a lot of fund raisers?

Do you ignore them, buy 1 or 2 things yourself so your child can particiapate or try to help your child sell them to co workers, family, friend, neighbors?

I think Kolby had 1 last year. We buy some and take it to work.

My DH hates them with a passion. He'd rather just give the school a check and be done with it. He says too much work is involved and the school gets such a small percentage of it. He also hates to bug people at his work, since they all have kids too.....and we won't let Parker go door to door, so it limits people to ask. Parker was disappointed this year that he couldn't do it. But I had to point out that we're moving, and the stuff wouldn't be ready for delivery until after we're gone. So, that worked out well. LOL

I've let him do it in the past, but he mostly just sold to us and my parents.

I do not like fund raisers at all. Totally understand and agree that I would rather write a check to the school than sell the fund raiser stuff. Plus my kids are both in scouts so we have fund raisers with those as well.

we will buy something from the school fund raisers just so my kids can participate and they ask their grand parents. Scout fund raiser we will take to work and ask family.

Not really...they always sell stupid stuff....
Butter Braid pastry that are $13 and Gertrude Chocolate(expensive) and soup.

Donovans preschool though is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a Harley, $10K or a Gator. I have sold a lot of those tickets

I like the idea of the raffle tickets. that would be a much better fundraiser then the food and odd items

Our school district does just what a lot of you would prefer. Every year they have a donation drive. Parents write checks if they can and businesses donate money. With my daughter we did the fundraiser stuff. I'm so glad I don't have to with my son!
