I read this earlier. I have read several articles suggesting pitocin links to autism. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :(

I find this very interesting. Have you ever read the book Belly Laughs?

Ever since i read her birth story I often wonder if Jenny McCarthy's son's autism was caused by a birth injury. IIRC he was hypoxic at birth, intervention filled labor that resulted in either an instrumental delivery or a c-section. As soon as I read that story I thought to myself that his autism was probably a result of his birth, and the mismanagement of her labor.

I'll read these articles as soon as I can - but it's been my suspicion for a while that the pitocin is at fault for the things we deal with here. I'm quite sure my oldest is on the spectrum, and my other two have issues as well. My youngest is an insomniac and has been on melatonin for it since he was 2 years old. Any other symptoms are fairly mild, except maybe his plethora of allergies, but it's a pretty major one and I suspect he may be on the spectrum as well. My middle one might not be HFA, but he's certainly got some other things going on, and still *might* be HFA.

So yeah. Going to avoid the pit at all costs, and do selective/delayed vax's to be on the safe side, and see how these twins fare. ;)

I think it's a combination of factors. I don't think there is any ONE thing that causes it, but I do think it starts before and during birth.
