Support Fellow Moms
Thanks to LJD3Tdance for allowing me to post this invitation!
Did you have Post Partum Depression (PPD)? Have you known anyone who has had PPD? Would you like more information on PPD?
One of the best ways to work through PPD is to have a great support network - and who better to network with than other moms, especially those here on JM?
As a mom who has suffered from PPD, I can tell you that it can be a very debilitating problem. My case prevented me from being able to go to work, which eventually had a hand in a poor evaluation that led to being laid off from my job. There were days that I didn't want to get out of bed because I didn't want to leave my son. Through medication treatment and building a support network of other moms, I have found that it is possible to beat PPD. I know from personal experience how scary it can be both to ask for help and to admit to yourself that you need help.
I knew that I needed help when I found myself sobbing on the phone to my grandmother instead of going to work. Once before I had tried to reach out for help and was denied, but I reached out again and received that help that I needed so desperately. On the advice of my midwife, I began to network with other moms, and their friendship and support helped me more than any pill. I am sharing this story with you to let you know that it's ok to be vulnerable, to admit that there is a problem and to help yourself to get help.
Now I'm here on behalf of other moms. PPD is so frightening and it can really make you feel completely alone. If you have or had PPD in the past, I invite you to join the PPD board here on JM so that we, as moms, can support one another and help each other get past these troublesome times. So jump in, introduce yourself, join in the fun - it's not all serious talk! We moms need to stick together - as a unit we can help many to beat this terror that interferes with our motherhood.

I'd join you, but I've only had pre-partum depression...being not pregnant makes me feel lots better thankfully, :dothug: to all your members though!
