Moretgage/rent payment

So Kris's post reminded me...in my old DDC we asked everyone what city they lived in, size of their house/apartment (like bedrooms, bathrooms, and ect) and how much their mortgage/rent payment cost. It was very interesting to see the price differences between all the different cities. If you don't mind sharing, then post away!

1500 sq ft 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment in northern California $2100/month

We already decided after our year lease is up next summer we will be finding a cheaper place to live! The apartment is ridiculously nice and there is a pool, hot tub and gym on the premises. But we could be saving more money if we downsize a bit.

We live in a 770 square foot apartment, one bedroom, one bathroom for $560 per month and I hate it lol! I just would like a bit more room so I don't feel so closed in and so we could have a nursery for Bradley...

I live in Virginia Beach, VA in a 4 BR/w room over garage, 3000 sq.ft. we rent for $1875 a month. That's pretty average around here, although it still seems like a ridiculous amount to pay.

Wylie tx (outside of Dallas) pay $1550 for a 4 bedroom 2200sqft house. Could own a much nicer and bigger house for the same or a little less. That's the price you pay when you don't keep your credit good.

We live in a small town near St. Cloud, MN in a 3BR/2BA/1200sqft home and our payment is almost $900/mo.

Re: Moretgage/rent payment

We're a little bit east of Seattle. We were living in a 2 bedroom/1 bath apartment, and the rent was $1050/month, which is very cheap for this area. We've now moved to a 3 bedroom/3 bath house, but we're actually renting from my parents, so they charge us below the market rate.

I should mention that when we lived in China (Chengdu), our rent on a 2-bedroom/2 bath apartment was about $400 a month, and when we lived in Shenzhen, our rent on a 3-bedroom/2 bath was about $500 a month! This is why I miss living abroad.

We live in small town Iowa, and pay $1400 per month for a 4 bedroom/3 Bath house. We bought 2 years ago when interest rates were REALLY low, so we got a great house for a price we could afford. However, don't ask me how low we had to sell our old house for. :(

Southeast Wisconsin, 1500 sq ft 3br/2bath, $900 a month mortgage. We purposely moved to this town due to cheaper house prices compared to some other cities around the area.

Outside of Orlando, Fl. We have a 1400sq ft 3br/2ba house with a fenced in one acre yard and pay $910 a month. Looking to upgrade to a bigger house when we find the right one. We'll probably start looking again in the spring.

Miami, 3/2 apt, don't know the size but it's fairly decent (I have a crib, my queen sleigh bed, my arm chair and ottoman, ensuite bathroom, and an ok walk-in closet in here in the master bedroom w/ plenty of walking space). Rent went from $930 to 1054. :/ Still cheaper than most areas for the same size so that's why I haven't moved. Plus I don't pay for water. But I make up for all of that in gas, tolls, and vehicle wear and tear.

2000/month for a 2100sf house (although the basement floor is not very nice, it's useable) with a wonderful yard about 2 miles from downtown Seattle and within walking distance to anything we need. I'm really sad we'll be moving out this winter/spring because the landlord is selling. :(

2 bed/2 bath ~1100sqft apartment for $680 in a medium sized city an hour north of Atlanta. In nicer parts of town though the rent would be more.

Our house is just under 2000 sq ft. 3-4 bedrooms, 2 bath. Our mortgage is 680 a month which is really cheap for the size and neighborhood we're in. We got a really good deal cause it was bank-owned.

Re: Moretgage/rent payment

We're about an hour southwest of Chicago. We bought around the time I got pregnant, so interest rate is AWESOME, though we didn't put down very much money since we had to pay to get out of our old house and we needed cash on hand to do some work here. House is about 2800 sq ft plus an unfinished basement, 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. It's on almost 2 acres and has a barn and an area attached to the barn that the previous owners called an "apartment". It has carpet and electricity, but no water or heat, so hardly liveable! ;) But the potential is there! We pay just under $2300/month.

Suburbs of SLC and we pay nearly $1800 for a 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath on 1/5 of an acre. We got a really good deal by building during the resession. Builders were doing anything to not have to lay off their crews and it was tons cheaper to build then buy.

We live just outside of Toronto in a 2200 sq foot house. Four bedrooms, plus 800 sq foot finished basement, 3.5 baths and pay $2100 a month.
