ob, midwife or specialist

Hi,
My progesterone is dropping so I am not sure how much longer this pregnancy will last. I am getting no where w/ discussing my concerns w/ my ob, I just had a miscarriage in Dec.
My husband and I are thinking of switching practices and am wondering if you all see an ob, midwife or specialist. If I do miscarry this will be the 3rd time and I do have two healthy children.
Any input is appreciated.

I currently see and OB, and I also saw a specialist up until 24 weeks.

I am really praying that you do not miscarry, but if you are wanting to swich to seeing someone else, I would ask other recent mothers about different docs in you area. Or just go for an initial visit with a couple of different Dr/midwives and see how you like them.

Any kind of dr. should address these concerns, especially since you have already had a couple losses. I strongly suggest finding a new dr. that will run the available testing, even now while you are in fact pregnant. They should be checking your hcg, progesterone, and a clotting panel of tests. I saw a high risk ob for both pregnancies and he was wonderful. He ran all of the tests that he thought were important and whenever I asked he ran those too. I hope you find a very caring dr. in your area. I hope this little bean is a sticky one though!

i saw my ob and he had me do a consult with a specialist. like stated above, an ob should listen to your concerns and try to help you find some answers and a plan of action. that is why i love my ob, but i went through a few 1st before i found him. he is so thorough and ordered tons of testing to try to help me have a baby. if you are not happy with your care, i would look into a different doctor. i hope you get some answers

Thank you ladies. I switched to another practice the other day and I feel much better, they spend allot of time w/ me on the phone. I had another hcg and progesterone done. My hcg almost doubled in 2 days it's 25,611 at 5w4d and I will have the progesterone on Monday and an ultrasound on Tuesday.
