Blood test results

My OB just called and said my hcg was 20 and they want to do another blood draw. Blood was taken @ 12DPO. Does this sound normal? Too low? I'm worried since I lost the last baby!!!

Re: Blood test results

I found a chart online that says around wk 4 normal is anywhere from 3-426. That is quite a range, but I'd definitely say 20 falls within that. I don' think that the initial number matters too much, I think it's what it does. It should be doubling every 2-3 days. As long as your next draw is going up at a normal rate, it should be okay.

It sounds ok to me... with my last pregnancy my hcg at 11dpo (i think it was 11dpo???? ) was 21. I was told its not the number that is important its whether or not it doubles :)

Re: Blood test results

OK the OB just called. My number is now 134. The nurse seemed a bit concerned and asked if I was spotting or cramping! (I'm not) My first blood draw was 12 DPO and it was 20. The 2nd draw I was 16 DPO and it was 134. To me it seems like the numbers are increasing at a good rate....but that darn nurse and the way she sounded. She is making me scared

Well, poo on her! Doubling every 2 days you would still be looking at only about 80! 134 sounds great to me! Seems to be doubling roughly every 36 hrs, which is fine!

Re: Blood test results

My van broke down so I can't get out to get another blood test done. Hopefully we'll get a "new" van this weekend. I *may* have ovulated 2 days later which would make my blood tests done at 10 DPO & 14 DPO. And that would explain why my first number was 20. But either way my numbers are increasing!!!

Re: Blood test results

Those numbers more than doubled in the average time period? Am I missing something? Why is she worried? According to the hcg doubling calculator, you're doubling every 1.5 days. That's really good. Why am I so confused? Call the doc and ask his/her opinion?
