First Trimester Screening Results

Well I didn't think that they were going to do this test since we went ahead and did the Materni21 test but they called yesterday and said my results were within normal range. Of course they called when I was right in the middle of a meeting with a client so I couldn't really ask alot of questions. From what I can tell within normal range results is a good thing. I have an appointment with my regular OB tomorrow so I'm going to ask for more specifics and I'll let you know what he says. Plus we should have the result back from the materni21 test in about 2 weeks so I will have an answer then. Just wondering if anybody else knows what results within normal range means?

Normal range is usually anything above a 1:350 chance of any of the trisomy's. You can always call back the nurse for the exact numbers, but super congrats!

I understood that "normal" is when your statistic based on your blood and sono is same as or better than your statistic based on just your age.

Yeah for normal! Far as I know, normal just means you have no elevated risk for birth defects, so you basically have the same "chances" as what is average for the population.

I'm not sure what it means either, but normal sounds good to me

Congrats! :)

Congrats! PP is correct, it's the average range for the population.
