Pregnancy Teas

has anybody ever used any kind of pregnancy teas? They were talking about this in my DDC and I never even knew there was such a thing. Have you heard of a type of tea that can help induce labor?

I haven't heard of that, but I have heard that you should avoid some types of tea while pregnant. I'm a long way away from even thinking about inducing.

Are they talking about Red Raspberry leaf tea? It is suppose to tone your uterus or something like that. Some people drink it their whole pregnancy and others just in the third trimester. I personally don't like it. I contracted all the time when I was drinking it and I still went two weeks over and had to be induced.

Yes they were talking about Red Raspberry Leaf tea and something else I can't even remember. Obviously it doesn't work. One of them said that it would help induce labor but looking at your experience Amber it doesn't sound like it does.

I just thought it was odd since I've been pregnant 4 times and I had never heard of it. thought I was missing out on something.

Yeah, when I was on it, it made me contract like a mad woman. It was just Braxton Hicks though and it made me kind of miserable. I kept drinking it thinking it would help and taking Evening Primrose Oil. Neither did a dang thing for me except give my Uterus one heck of a workout. Still went to almost 42 weeks. Second pregnancy, I said screw it and I didn't have nearly the amount of Braxton Hicks. Still went to 42 weeks, but actually went on my own that time.

There is a "Pregnancy Tea" by Traditional Medicinals. I saw it when I was at the vitamin shoppe.

Yea, I've heard people talk about red raspberry leaf tea inducing labor before, but when I looked into it the only thing it said was it's a uterine toner. So it helps your uterus contract more effectively during labor, but doesn't actually induce labor. Some women swear it helps their labors be easier/shorter, but some say it doesn't do anything for them. I don't know if it really helps much. It is supposed to be good for other issues with periods and stuff, and I've used it for that. It did seem to help me for regulating my cycles, but that's all I really know about it.
