Apple Cinnamon Squares
2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups brown sugar
½ cup margarine, softened
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup low fat sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ cup egg substitute
2 cups peeled and finely chopped apples
In a large bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, margarine, and walnuts. Mix well. Press 2 ¾ cups of the mixture firmly into an ungreased 9” x 13” pan. Add remaining ingredients to mixture left in bowl and blend well. Spread mixture over crumb crust. Bake in preheated oven at 350F for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm sprinkled with powdered sugar or low fat whipped topping. Makes 20 squares.
