New to this board

Hi everyone. One of the many nice ladies on JM told me about this board. I'm just a d&c 15 days ago. This is my second miscarriage in less than a year apart. I'm frustrated, defeated, and just really upset that this keeps happening. I feel like I'm broken and hoping their are others that can relate and know/understand how I feel. I'm sick of hearing it'll happen when the time is right. Or the line, "there must be something wrong with the baby/babies". Ugh! I know they are just trying to help but it just makes me want to puke.

Welcome to the board. I am so sorry for your losses. Has your OB done any testing? How far along were you? My losses are because of low progesterone. I have never carried a baby past 6 weeks without it.It is hard to not feel broken and defeated. We have all been there, and some are still there. I hope that you can find the cause(s) of your losses and are able to carry your rainbow baby soon.

We still haven't found out the cause. My progestrone has always been good. He will be doing a bunch of blood work in the next couple months. We are currently waiting for the hormones to get out of my system since they can effect the results of the tests. The first time was 6.5 wks, the second time was a little over 9 weeks.

:dothug: I am very sorry for your losses & am glad you found us.

I had 3 miscarriages, the first two at 8 weeks & the third at 9 weeks. I had the whole RPL blood panel done & have Lupus Anticoagulant, which is something to due with my blood. I now have a 2 y/o, during that pregnancy I was on Progesterone the 1st trimester & took low dose aspirin the entire pregnancy. I am currently 23 weeks pregnant & did the same thing.

I hope you find your answers soon.

My progesterone came back in the low but normal range. I still take it for the whole first trimester. To stay pregnant with my 2.5 year old I took baby aspirin on top of the progesterone as well. We also found out that I am hypothyroid as well. So, this go around I took levothyroxine and progesterone. All of my bloodwork came back completely normal, but luckily my midwife knew that my normal was different than average normal.

Awww April, i'm so sorry! I didn't even know you were pregnant. I would look into getting some blood work done by your OB. We know my previous losses before Rylie were due to MTHFR along with a genetic chromosome issue. It still sucks every time a miscarriage happens, but understanding why it's happening might help you heal. *hugs* Obviously there are chances that they could do blood work and still not get anything back...but you never know!

Dr said we are going to be testing for MTHFR as well as RPL blood panel. I guess. I'm not really up to speed on these tests yet. I'm trying not to google and just take it all in stride. The first loss was difficult, the second was devastating. Some days I do well, others not so much. It does not take much to set my tears off. I'm really hoping we find something, so that I can have some type of answer. This may be just a random flip of the coin but it would be nice to know why. I've heard about the baby aspirin and I'm going to be taking that as soon as I find out I'm pregnant, if I get that opportunity. My progestrone this last time was 14 at 7wks.

There is a sticky thread that has the blood tests & reasons for RPL.

*hugs* I'm sorry sweetie. I haven't had any testing yet either.. I figure that will happen in April.. to say I'm nervous would be a total understatement.

I've had two D&C's. First at 9 weeks pregnant and the second I was 15 weeks with twins. After the twins I went to an RE and did blood work and an ultrasound and everything checked out. I didn't get anymore testing done when I got surprised with my third pregnancy. My doctor put me on progesterone and luckily it worked. If your levels are normal then I'm not sure if you'll need it but the testing is pretty easy nothing too hard to do. Honestly an RE is WAY more informative than a regular OB. They can do a lot more testing and they are worth checking out IMO. Good luck!
