Re: Sunday inserts

:) The only ones I'm really going to use are for the Tylenol things. I got them for like $0.92 the last time those coupons were in there.

Oh, I am so sorry! I feel your pain. We should start a club! We can beat our heads against the wall together.

Things are getting so bad with money over here! I'm LOSING MY MIND with him!

Yesterday there was just over $100 in our checking account--to last until he gets paid on Thursday. I saw down and...

Re: What are some frugal meals?

I'm with you. I mean, I like pasta with meat sauce, parmesan, salad, and garlic bread. But pasta with a jar of sauce thrown over it.. is NOT something we would eat. My kids would look at me like I...

Re: What do you do when you find money on the ground?

I explained to my daughter that if it had been more money, we would have put up a sign about having found some money. We do live in a very well-to-do building, though, so I'm thinking whoever lost...

Re: UGH! Another rambly rant

The $100 a day is from his company. He can spend up to $100 a day for food. Since he was in Paris and Romania, he used most of it everyday. He doesn't get a per diem--so if he spends $20 or...

UGH! Another rambly rant

I swear, I'm ready to explode. My husband was out of town for a week. The kids and I ate at home, only. I put gas in the car one time, and the tank was on half full at the end of the week. I drove...

Re: Do you spend less money when you pay with cash?

I spend more, or at least can't keep track, when I use cash. I've taken to saving every receipt for everything--and putting it on my fridge. I even put a paper for the $18.40 I spent at the farmers'...

What do you do when you find money on the ground?

In the last 30 days I have gone cold turkey on Starbucks, driving through to get an iced tea at McD's, grabbing a little taco somewhere. I've been putting receipts on the fridge for every single...

Pasta with meatballs-- I set aside about 1/3 of the meatballs for the next day. Today we are having meatball sliders.

I shop at Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Costco.

Whole Foods has Friday deals and Saturday morning deals. Tomorrow Organic Free-range ground beef is $4.99 a pound. I will buy 5 individual pounds...

Re: I struggle so much with being frugal. It's infuriating! (rambling)

Caelen is right about cost of living. Our rent is $2600 (including water and garbage). Gas is currently $3.75 a gallon. A gallon of organic milk at Trader Joe's is $6, $7 if I go to Whole Foods. I...

Re: I struggle so much with being frugal. It's infuriating! (rambling)

I totally know what you're saying. I re-read my post, and worry that it sounds like I'm bragging. I'm not! I find it so frustrating that people like on 1/4-1/3 what we do, yet--I waste so much...

I struggle so much with being frugal. It's infuriating! (rambling)

Re: What is your biggest expense?

Our housing is our biggest expense. Then comes the groceries. Then the mini-van. For a long time eating out was more than the car payment--but we are fixing that!!

Re: Am I missing anything at Target?

They have J R Watkin's cleaning spray and hand soap on sale. If you buy them together, you get a dollar off. A while back I grabbed a bunch of $1 stickies of the bottles. I'm out of both cleaner and...

Re: Do you leave coupons behind for others?

Yup yup! In fact, I intentionally cut out the coupons I know I won't use and give them to my 7 year old to deliver to the different areas of the store. It keeps her busy, and teaches her about...

Re: So proud of myself! 18 days of eating at home!

Re: tracking with spreadsheets

My husband made an excel sheet that balances everything with equations and stuff. It's pretty impressive, but if I have too many number, and shift cells it gets al confused, and then I get confused.

Re: How much do you spend on pets?

$80 dog food
$30 cat food
$28 cat litter
$26 flea preventative
$20 extra cost for AC to keep the house at 68 which prevent fleas from reproducing/hatching

So, about $200.
