Re: Wacky Wednesday!

This week is a crazy one at work. It's reading week, which means there are special literacy activities every day, plus my class is presenting the Thanksgiving celebration (I'm Canadian) AND we have a...

Re: Anyone else going "Minimal" with baby gear?

I'm planning to go minimal! We're getting a lot of stuff second-hand from DH's cousin, which is both economical and eco-friendly :) My registry is really small, which I tell myself is ok because most...

Re: Christmas gift shopping

DH decided baby needs a stocking and plans to stuff it with a book, a stuffed toy, pyjamas, a teether, and a hat. S/he will be completely unaware, so I know it's absolutely unnecessary, but it'll be...

Re: OT- What would you do or how would you handle this?

I doubt he would be talking about her if you had to worry, though I do agree that you should share your feelings with him. Jealousy is a powerful and toxic emotion and can only lead to more stress...

Re: Due Dates

Hoping baby is a little late! DH's last exam is on baby's due date (the 17th), so a day or two after would be nice. I would like to still make it to holiday parties though, so hopefully not too late.

Re: Older Child Transition

I think it really depends on the kid. DH's cousin's oldest was 3 when her little sister was born and she just embraced the whole big sister thing! The extended family made sure to still give her...

Re: Anyone baby shower planning?

A group of my girlfriends are planning my shower and I'm not allowed to know anything but the date and the guest list. If I know them, though, there will be a theme and possibly a glitter explosion...

Re: Breast changes

Mine have ballooned! I can't even guess their size anymore since the DD cups I bought in the first trimester are laughable now. I told my husband my areolae were the size of Oreos and he said "Oh no,...

Re: Am I nuts?

I'm an FTM too, but I'm not planning on hosting anything or anyone this Christmas. My mom is coming from New Brunswick and house sitting for a friend, DH's best friend may or may not be coming and...

Re: Friend Issue

To be honest, I think it's understandable that she misread you. Even if it's a separate email, the bottom line is that she was reaching out just a few days earlier with problems she had be having and...

Re: Cloth Diapers

The more I read up on them, the more I'm looking forward to using flats/prefolds. There is a bit of controversy about the use of water and energy in the washing and drying of diapers, but I think...

Re: Monday Moans

Today was HOT! I'm starting to understand this whole heat discomfort in pregnancy thing. I cut my walk in half today because I just couldn't hack it. I also spent a few hours cleaning the apartment...

Re: 21 weeks today!

21 weeks and a few days over here! I'm not sure if it's gone by super fast or if it's taking forever. I could barely believe when the first trimester was over that I was already a third of the way...

Re: Cloth Diapers

If you're looking to save money, I ordered some Alvas online and was really impressed with the price. It was important to me not to use fleece, and their bamboo diapers are only about 7$ Canadian,...

Re: RANT: Pregnancy Frustration/Momma's boy

Oh no! My husband refuses to tell anyone the name we picked for a girl to avoid this kind of problem. I've told a few people (like my dad) and I would be ok sharing it because if she's a she, we'll...

Re: Help! I need some quick advice! Tmi warning

Is there any cramping involved? Did you check with toilet paper to see if there was blood and where it was coming from? Have you been eating beets? It's a pinker red and doesn't look like blood....

Re: delayed cord clamping. ..

It's my plan with this one. I guess a lot of the baby's blood volume is in the cord and placenta at the time of birth, so it makes sense to let the blood return to the baby if there's no rush for...

Re: I can't believe I'm halfway!

Me too! Happy Halfway Day! I'm also floored by how quickly things are changing in my body. It's totally normal for me to feel the baby move around now and my belly is in line with my boobs. It won't...

Re: 20 week u/s baby measuring small...

My brother's girlfriend is an ultrasound tech, and she was telling me that they never change the EDD after the first scan because the earlier it is, the more accurate. I agree with Socialworkmomtobe,...

Re: 20 week u/s baby measuring small...

One of the reasons they do dating ultrasounds so early is because later in gestation, the baby's size is more dependant on genetics than on age. That's why some babies are born at 42 weeks and weigh...

Re: repeat c-section?

I thought with planned c-sections they usually go a good bit before the due date so that you avoid going into labour.

Re: Speaking of frequent peeing: Am I the only one...

Haha, yeah! It may be TMI but I have a pretty good bladder capacity usually, so it's weird to me to have to go really bad then only pee a bit. It's been happening more lately, and babe is hanging out...

Re: How many times a night do you pee?

Usually once, except if we go to bed relatively late, then I wake up to pee around 6 and can't go back to sleep. I had about a week or two's break from it earlier in the second trimester, but baby's...

Re: Best time for first ultrasound

Popping in from December. I went at 7 weeks and the heart, gestational sac, and fetal pole were easy to see and measure. It's such an exciting time! Congrats to you all!
