Re: Overwhelmed with info! Need advice.

I have only made inserts with microfiber towels, but I found that sewing inserts went so quickly that it was better to make a few different options to try so I could see what worked best. Then I...

Re: Debating

LOL, I felt the same way until I had been using cloth for a little while. I think I just got used to being able to actually get them clean, if that makes sense. Poo is NOT a sanitary thing,...

Re: BumGenius or GroVia????

From what I have heard, the GroVia's are more trim. My SIL used them on her triplets and love, love, LOVED them. I haven't used either, though, so that's the most I can tell you!

Re: Losing steam :(

I hear ya! I was about ready to throw in the towel because the diapers were starting to leak and we are getting SO CLOSE to potty readiness. Then DH got a layoff notice, so I made it a goal to get...

Re: Buying used covers?

I think the elastic was the biggest issue for me. I let hubby pick up some diapers for me (off of CL), and he didn't know to check. I had to replace the elastic on both covers, ugh!

Re: Smell HELP!

I have been using All Free & Clear on my dipes for over a year, and they are fine, if that makes you feel better ;).

Re: Smell HELP!

I have heard about people adding a towel or two to the load to increase the amount of water, but I'm not sure if that works or not :-/. Good luck!

Re: Can I do this?

Any of those things would work! I would suggest checking Craigslist and/or diaperswappers for used newborn dipes. The babies wear them for so little time that they are usually still good as new,...

Re: Nystatin Powder and cd's

Huh, good questions! I would use a liner, personally. I think your bigger issue is getting the yeast out of the diapers so he doesn't get reinfected, but I don't know much about that. Ask Google? ...

Re: Sunbaby diapers?

I wound up getting size 1's, since my girlie is pretty skinny. She is on the biggest rise, but she still has room to grow around her waist. I'm not sure if they will last her until potty training,...

Re: Yet another washing question.

Aw, man! What a bummer! Fuzzibunz are by CottonBabies, right?? They advocate bleaching once each month as part of the usual wash routine, but I don't know how much you would use in an HE washer......

Sunbaby diapers?

Does anyone use the new "sized" Sunbaby diapers? I am thinking about getting a few, and I can't figure out whether to get size 1 or size 2. :D

Re: Dumb question

My Alva baby diapers were advertised as "AIO pockets", and I think some of the other diapers from China are marketed this way. If it's Alva or something similar, both inserts go inside the diaper. ...

Re: Feeling uneasy

That does sound exciting! I have thought about making newborn AIOs for our next baby when the time comes... but I think I am going to wind up going the prefold/cover route. I would be worried about...

Re: The stinkies have got to go!

Not sure how you feel about it, but... bleach would be my next step. 1/4 cup in a full load, then an extra rinse (or two). :)

We have extremely hard water, so I use bleach every 3 weeks. I...

Re: Feeling uneasy

My SIL managed to CD her triplets after having two other kids (and a much older stepdaughter), if that helps you feel better. Idk what I would do if I were you... Maybe make just a few more if that...

Re: Diaper pail??

That is awesome!!!! I want one!!!!

We use small trash can, and I usually leave the lid open. It's in the laundry room, so on occasion when it is a little stinky, it isn't a big deal.

Re: Stupid question..Might be gross

I use a dish scrubber in the toilet, then rinse the rest in the washroom sink, then spray oxiclean if there are any spots left. I also just started using flushable liners (which I don't flush),...

Re: Anyone tried the BG Freetime?

My SIL let me use hers when we were visiting a few weeks ago (her DS just potty trained), and I LOVED them. I kept 2, and I reach for them ALL THE TIME when I'm changing. They were a little bit...

Re: Who has experience with rashes?

What about heat rash? I know that is kind of out there, but I lived in Virginia as a kid and I struggled with it. I'm just trying to think of things that haven't been suggested...

Aw, sad. Where did everybody go? Not like I've been very good lately; I haven't been active in months. When I WAS active, this was my fav board, 'cuz we are the best-est, clearly ;).

Re: Diaper sprayer??

Sorry, I am a swish-&-dunk-er! I swish them in the toilet and use a cheap old dish brush to help with the "stubborn" messes. I'm interested to hear more about diaper sprayers, though! :D
