Re: lets talk wet/dry bags

I made a couple large bags out of fleece to fit the wicker pail we use. As long as the dirty diapers aren't sopping wet, 1 layer of fleece is plenty moisture resistant as a wetbag. Wash with...

Re: Fuzzibunz on the Shark Tank

I didn't see it, but my mom did and called me to tell me about it, LOL!! She said the same thing about her actions at the end. :(

Re: A little help please??

well if you're making your own wipe solution, you can try adding potassium sorbate. It's food grade, natural, etc. Used in wine making to prevent mold. Also commonly used in skin care products,I...

Re: Bamboo Doublers?

I have had and liked both. The only reason I switched from hemp to bamboo is hemp gives Kaiden a rash when wet and bamboo doesn't.

Re: Drying to "seal" the laminate?

LOL, I forgot to add - check your dryer too! If your dryer has exposed metal like mine does (showing silver rather than the white) if your diaper covers have any exposed PUL like Thirsties Duo Wraps...

Re: Question about fabrics

It's where cotton meets wetness that the wetness wicks to the cotton on the outside. So, if baby wets to the edge of the diaper, and that wetness has a chance to touch the edge where the cotton is,...

Re: what is your favorite CD detergent?

We have super hard water here. I've tried all the different kinds of RNG, and none worked well with our water. :( I've used Planet, and liked it. Tried 7th Generation, did not work with our water,...

Re: Drying to "seal" the laminate?

keep in mind there are different quality levels for PUL. The lesser quality PUL's, drying them in the dryer will delaminate them. The better quality PUL's are meant to be dried on hot in the dryer....

Re: my water just went crazy!!!

eek!! Ours is always consistently really hard too, no changes there. The most we get, is after a heavier rain or a snow melt our water stinks. Not sure why, this just started in 2009. DH says he...

Re: Question About making cloth diapers

 thanks! Unfortunately with my design there just isn't a way to make it waterproof and still be so adjustable. I could do hemp though, if someone ordered enough diapers to make getting hemp...

Re: Question About making cloth diapers

lots of WAHM's make them that way; some leak and some don't. Definitely need to use 100% polyester thread. If you have enough (or more than enough) absorbency for your LO's needs, you'll have less...

Re: so this is what they mean by "hold and flood".....

Kaiden's been in that stage for quite awhile now, we don't go thru near as many diapers per day, but the ones we do use better be super absorbent!! and his morning flood . . . let's just say 5...

Re: My cloth choice!

LOL, that's exactly how I folded ours! Then it became 2 PF's folded on the inside of another . . . and now I'd have to use at least 4 of them.

Re: Gerber???

we have used Gerber PF's in the past, and eh, they are okay but certainly not my preferred PF for absorbency or durability. They wear out quickly thanks to that useless, non-absorbent polyester...

Re: My cloth choice!

we've used gerber prefolds over the years, they are okay. They are made of cotton birdseye, with a (useless) layer of polyester, non-absorbent batting in the center for padding. The prefolds are...

Re: fabric question

prefolds are cotton twill, and you can't get that fluffy soft twill at Joann's . . . you can get cute printed cotton twill there, but it will not quilt up. :)

Re: I think my baby is allergic to my dipes :(

Hope you get it figured out!! If all else fails, like the others said, look at food. Kaiden has a whole list of foods that he cannot have until he is out of diapers.
