Re: It's deader than a door nail in here!

It's been a while since I've been on JM. Honestly I keep up more the facebook pages. I was on here for a while and desperately trying to resurrect this group or join with another playroom, but it...

Re: Confessional

I like this thread. I really thought that having a new baby (#2) would be hard and I couldn't wait until they get older like Noah is (2.5 years old), but now that I have her, I think the total...

Re: Boobs and Bottles

We'll nurse for as long she wants and as long as I still make milk. With Noah, we weaned him to conceive and I still feel a little guilty about that so I want to go as long as we can with her,...

Re: When to start baby food!?

We will be waiting until 6 months, at least. But honestly I'm waiting to see when her tongue reflex goes away, when she can sit up well, and looks ready vs a specific date. We also won't do cereal....

Re: Cloth diaperers (is that a word?)

We do flip diapers and this is our 2nd in them, so no real surprises. Now that my son is PT, we only have 1 in diapers and her poops don't have to be rinsed off, so that's much more fun (although...

Re: Are you still nursing??

GREAT. This is my favorite stage of breastfeeding. All the kinks have been worked out and she isn't being distracted by everything yet. So we just peacefully nurse together, so sweet.

Re: Working moms

I've been back at work for 3 weeks now. Emilee was 12 weeks when we left her. She goes to a daycare center, the same one my son is going to, so I'm very comfortable with them. I still wish I could...

Re: Swimsuits

We got a rashguard and built in diaper bottoms from Buy Buy Baby. She's been in the pool a few times already but mostly she sleeps on the side.

Re: How many oz's?

Your baby should drink between 24-30 oz a day (that's the average). So divide that by the # of feedings and that should be how much your baby is eating. If you are breastfeeding, go somewhere they...

Re: baby food

We will be taking baby's cues on when to start, but definitely not before 6 months. For those that aren't sure, here's a great article:

Re: babies and the sun

We mostly keep her in the shade/indoors and use a hat but if we have to we do use sunscreen. But we specifically use California babies which is ok for little ones less than 6 months. The reason being...

Re: If you pump...

My total baby app tells me I have 119 oz in the deep freeze. Before I went back to work I would pump an extra session after I fed her in the morning and would get 3-4 oz. now that I'm at work 3 days...

Re: Noisy Eater?

My son always did the weird head bob/shake but Emilee will just sit and wait patiently. But she is a very loud eater. I agree with the pp that it's almost embarrassing to feed in public especially...

Re: Baby's daily routine

Our days still vary a lot. Usually the day revolves around my plans and what our son is doing and she just eats and sleeps on our own little schedule. Thank goodness for mobile babies.

Mostly...

Re: Losing weight, breastfeeding and weaning

Technically, once you start your baby on solid foods, you are starting the weaning process, but it should be very gradual. If your baby just decides to stop nursing, then it's just a nursing strike....

Re: It suddenly died in here.

It's sad. This is what happened with my son's PR as well and it's why I was so against a FB group. Honestly, the chances of having "new" members at this point is pretty low, but I still think posts...

Re: Neat Baby Tracking App

Neat, we always use Total Baby. I love that it has a new feature that allows you to enter your pumped milk into an inventory, so I always know how many ounces are down in the freezer.

Re: For those mommies who plan on making baby's food.....

I agree with the wholesome baby food website from the PP. It makes it really easy and has good tables on when to introduce food.

The way I started out was I started with say sweet potatoes and I...

Re: Baby Wearers...

I put my moby on at home so the ends don't drag on the ground. Then when I get to the store, I just pull her out of the carseat and plop her in.

And for the OP, I don't really care what anyone...

Re: BF'ers, Nursing tops?

I bought the target tanks. They were the cheapest and most comfortable I could find, but not all that great. My complaint is the tank gets bunched up under my boobs and i sweat like crazy. Have...

Re: Has anyone introduced cereal yet?

We won't do cereal at all...no need for it. We will start with veggies/fruit right off the bat, but not until at least 6 months at the very earliest.

Re: pooping question

I think the normal is every diaper or so. I think the amount should be quarter size, but less is fine too. For some reason, Emilee's "normal" is NO poop for 7 days. She only poops on Saturdays for...

Re: OT -- Controversial new Times magazine cover

My opinion on extended breastfeeding is that it's fine if you want, fine if you don't. It doesn't make me feel uncomfortable or anything and I certainly don't feel guilty that I weaned my son (or he...
