Re: Quick question from a FTM

Juts buy one each of a few types. You won't need a lot of bottles in the beginning anyway if your BFing. Then once you know what baby likes it's easy to place an amazon order or pick some more up.

Re: Quick question from a FTM

This is so individual, just like what kind of paci your baby will like! With DD, we bought the Avent, but later found out it was causing ALL her latch issues! (Even though Avent is often good for...

Re: Anyone else "feed the freezer" before baby?

I put away two dinners of taco soup, 3 of black bean cream cheese chicken, and a couple steaks in a marinade. That makes like...23 down and 17 to go.

Re: PSA: correlation between induction drugs and autism?

So when it comes to birth, I am like, super crunchy, homebirth rah rah, hate unnecessary inductions, etc. HOWEVER. I am a big fan of you know, math and science, of which the article has not much.

Re: sex to induce?

No, it doesn't work until your body is ready, otherwise babies would never go overdue, lol! The number one thing it helps with is effacement, because semen is a prostiglandin.

And like my...

Re: How leaky are you?

It's colostrum, same as will be here after the baby is born and until milk comes in. :)

At some hospitals, if they know your baby will be NICU or have feeding issues (cleft palate, twins, mom with...

Re: Anyone else "feed the freezer" before baby?

Whoo hoo! Two days ago I got those 3 lasagnas, a thing of meat sauce, and 3 dinners of pulled pork into the freezer. Next is probably to prep all my crock pot meals and freeze - maybe this weekend.

Re: How leaky are you?

I'll take the freak heat off you. ;) I'm already pumping and storing colostrum.

But I don't really leak. I do get the slightly damp feeling occasionally though.

Re: Anyone else "feed the freezer" before baby?

There are 12 lbs of pork butt in my crock pot! Had to smash the lid on!

And 6 lbs ground beef worth of meat sauce on the stove. Lasagna to be assembled after I get the kid from camp.

I am...

Re: Anyone else "feed the freezer" before baby?

I believe we bought both the deep freeze and the food saver when I was pregnant with Elizabeth for this reason. The freezer I don't know how we ever lived without. The foodsaver gets sporadic use....

Re: Anyone else "feed the freezer" before baby?

It's crunch time!!!!

I made and froze 3 dinners' worth of meatballs, and then tonight I just made 2 extra pans of enchiladas. I hadn't even planned to, but miraculously I had the ingredients and...

Re: 36 week exhaustion?

I actually am just getting a little better. Once I got this GD sugar swinging thing figured out, my energy level has improved. Up until now, at 1 pm I would just CRASH and be no good for anything for...

Re: Who is in the running for having their baby first??

Yeah, I'm due Sept 8, but it seems in the past that half the due date club goes before the month even starts! I'll definitely be late.

Re: fetal movement during labour?

Every baby is different! I've been told if they move DURING contractions it's pretty painful for mom. Elizabeth never moved once that I cold feel during the entirety of my labor, but her heart tones...

Re: Second baby "dropping"

I was reading that this is true and not true.

First time moms will almost always drop prior to labor. (In my case, 6 weeks, lol!)

Second or more time moms might or might not and it's all...

Re: Diaper Bag for hospital

I will probably still bring a diaper bag for baby, but I did not touch it last time. Coming home outfit, blanket, nail clippers, wipes...is all I could ever imagine needing.

Re: What did your true labour pains feel like btdt moms?

Hmm, back cramps for me. I felt nothing in my stomach and they never "wrapped around" like I hear about labor pains. My husband spent every second of labor pushing on my back. This was almost...

Re: TMI Postpardum Mesh Undies or Granny Panties

From what I read everywhere it is a split. Women love them or hate them, there is no in between. I loved them. I brought home several extra pairs and wore them for a while!

Re: Weight Gain??

Lower weight gain does not really equal less stretch marks, sadly. I only gained 12 lbs with DD and I have gigantic stretch marks over every inch of my belly. My BFF gained 80 lbs and looks exactly...

I live in Houston, land of 100% humidity 100% of the time and I ended up buying a vaporizer (same deal but you can put in vicks) when she was about 2 and had her first real sickness. It really does...
