Re: Advice on trust issues!

I never told him he couldn't speak to anyone in private. I never "told" him anything, actually. We BOTH agreed not to have private conversations with the opposite sex-- meaning emails, texting, etc....

Re: newbies and lurkers alike!!

Hi, I've been around JM for a few months, but don't really post a ton and have never been to this particular forum. I don't really like to share names and such until I'm a little more comfortable, I...

Re: Advice on trust issues!

Thanks for your response, and thanks for this last bit. Sometimes my mind gets carried away with all the possibilities and all the details I don't have (and ultimately don't really want to have...

Re: Trolls

I once belonged to a forum for military spouses, and I came across a girl who was engaged to a Marine. Within two months she'd broken up with the guy, saying he was awful to her, abusive, etc. We all...

Re: Censorship?

I don't think this is really censorship in the purest form.

Amazon is a private company, and has every right to tell this author where he can shove his disgusting book. The "censorship" excuse...

Re: Three year freeze on military pay

I am against this, but I should preface this by saying that my husband is in the military, so I am a little biased.

Give my husband a lowered pay increase. That's fine. Give him no pay increase...

Re: How much does your DH help out?

It's like pulling teeth. I work and go to school, and still I have to do everything around the house. It drives me nuts, and has caused a few hefty arguments between the two of us.

It's not so...

Re: just a question...

Has he been to counseling? I would gently suggest going, not only for the sake of having children, but for his own mental health. If he is able to talk about it pretty openly with you, I would ask...

Unhappy Advice on trust issues!

My husband is in the military, and when he was deployed in 2008 he struck up a friendship with a woman who was in Iraq at the same time. They exchanged email addresses and would converse rather...

Re: Some questions about you, your SO, and WTTC

1. Who has the worst baby fever right now – you or your SO?
Me, me, me, me.

2. Are you WTTC because you want to, your partner wants to, or because you both want to?
Mostly because he wants to...

Re: Isaac and "zeke"??

I think they're too close. Even if you were to name him Ezekial, people would still call him Zeke, and it would still sound too close. I'd search for something a bit more different.

Re: Elijah (Eli)

I prefer Eli as a nickname from Elias. BUT, I love the name Elijah. One of the best parts about naming your child Elijah is that people can choose if they want to use the nickname or not. Eli makes...

Re: Are any of these names still usable?

Demi is the only one, I think. I love Demi Lovato's name and I don't think it's at all overshadowed by Demi Moore. But I can't imagine another Madonna or Oprah coming along.

As for the boy names,...

Re: Annabel

This is a girl name that I love, and I much prefer the spelling Annabel, for the same reason: I don't care for any name that is tempting to turn into "Bella." You could call her Anna or Annie, the...

Re: Girls Name Help

I once had a friend whose parents wanted to call her Carly but thought the name was too cutesy for when she became an adult, so they named her Carlyn.

Re: Wdyt?

Like the way it looks on paper (or screen?) but I feel like it's A) sort of gender-neutral (but yay if you like GN names), and B) the kid would have their name mispronounced their entire life.

Re: Help With Boy Name :)

I love Jacob. I know it's like the most popular name in the US, or close to it, but I haven't met ANY young children named Jake/Jacob recently, so I'm wondering just who is naming their kid that...

Um, Jonas is the only name on that list I'd consider. It's tough when you have family members breathing down your neck, but don't settle on a family name if you don't love it. If your FIL gets upset...

I've seen the movie, more than once, and didn't even pick up on the trend until you mentioned the movie.

You could try spelling it Vivienne. It's different from the movie, and sometimes that...

I like it. Would work well with my uber-Italian last name, lol. My husband would probably swoon for it.

My only beef with Giovanni is that he would inevitably be called Gio... and if that's not a...

Re: Names in the same realm as Abigail?

I get a kind of dainty, old-timey feel with Abigail. With that said, and sort of taking the syllable count into mind:

Annabel
Charlotte
Violet
Madeline
Gwendolyn
Adelaide
Evelyn
