Surgery is generally a very, very last resort for incontinence, so if your doctor is telling you it will be necessary I would be getting a second opinion, because it is flat out wrong.

I have not had a placental abruption. Did they say what cuased it? My guess is that the risk is the same, your biggest risk is being pregnant after abruption period, not how you choose to deliver...

I should have read your comment first, I use cotton every night because we use prefolds and covers. I said 'sometimes' because we use PUL mostly, but sometimes use wool covers.
