Re: New car seat law for California

The bad article you are referring to was in the WSJ :( I'm so happy to hear about these laws but I so wish AZ would follow suit. We have the worst car seat safety laws in the nation. 4 and under are...

Re: Question about the Britax Frontier 85

I would highly recommend having a tether retrofitted if it's not available. As Amy stated, top tether is highly recommended to reduce forward head excursion.

I thought we'd never hit 65# LOL!...

Re: 2yrs

:cheer: WTG!

Cohen is 3yrs and 3mo and is soooo close by height in the Radian. He's also starting to fight me more. He gets in Braedon's booster every single time we get in the car. I need to...

Re: New booster...bad fit...disappointed mama

This..the positioning clip is attached on the back and has a red thing on it. You adjust it to go up her back and put the seatbelt in the red thing :)

Re: boosters, carpooling & peer pressure: wwyd?

Yes I know teasing hurts and kids are mean. My son is the only one I know if in his 2nd grade class that's in a booster. I see kids being picked up all the time that don't buckle. I know I'm lucky...

Re: What do you do?

This is one of the deciding factors for me to become a CPST. I wanted to be able to approach parents and have something to "back me up". I have also realized I absolutely can NOT save everyone. I...

Re: boosters, carpooling & peer pressure: wwyd?

Ditto everything Amy said. My oldest is 8 and we have had several conversations about why he is in a booster when his friends aren't. He knows that is what he needs to stay safe and I've shown him...

Re: What do you drive?

I have a 2005 Dodge Magnum. I had a Dodge Charger that was totaled in an accident so when we went to replace it, I knew I needed something as big as the Charger but we were on a budget. The Charger...

Re: RFing goal

We are at 3 yrs 2 mo and he has a little over an inch and 10 lbs. I've thought about turning him for a half a second (then I start thinking about the what ifs and know he's safer as long as he fits)....

Re: Should you rear face on a plane?

At 10 mo, you absolutely need to RF him on the plane. When kids are over 2, I would say FF is ok. Planes are relatively safe when you are properly restrained so I have no issues FF when they are...

Re: Question for Mommies who own a Sunshine Kids Radian

I have one because it was the only one that would get him to at least 3 RF. I don't have any problems with it installed RF. It did take some getting used to because it's harder to get a good grip on...

Re: how do you find the words?

If this were ME, I would've walked right over to them and said "Oh hun (or any other term of endearment), can I show you something real quick?" and not really give a chance for them to answer while I...

:cheer: Look at how much room she has! Congrats on making it to 3yrs! :D

My newly turned 3 yr old is very close in his Radian :( He's about even with the top of the sun..maybe a little over.

Re: infant carrier vs convertable

So the doula in me just has to say at your current gestation, a good "guesstimate" is hard to come by. Your Dr. saying "AT LEAST" 9-10lbs sounds like a scare tactic to me. It's possible yes, but in...

Re: I want to make sure my info is correct.

Middle is the safest, yes because it's the furthest away from all points of impact. The outboard seats are equally as safe. There are a lot of speculations as to why 1 side might be safer than the...

Re: Back to square one!

The 85 is the new Frontier..80 is the older one. At 5, she *should* still fit in the harness. as long as her shoulders are not over the top slot. I don't remember the exact height but I know the...

Re: Expiration dates

They absolutely do expire. We caution against using used seats unless you are ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN it was cared for correctly and was not in an accident. Your child's life depends on it. That being...

Re: Back to square one!

I'm assuming you still have the harness in? There is a screw on the back of the headrest that comes out when you convert to booster mode and when you take that out, the headrest goes up a bunch :) My...

Re: Need help with a Radian XT car seat (and rear facing)

The way SKJP/Diono states 45* or greater is from the back of the child restraint to the bottom seat rather than the back of the seat to the child restraint which converts to an angle of 30-45*. So...

Re: locking clip ? and recline ? with pics

You might be able to cut it off..I've never tried. I really hate that they put that thing on there..maybe call the dealership and see if they can get/cut it off? I'm sure it's more reclined than...

Re: locking clip ? and recline ? with pics

You are probably having a problem because of the way the latchplate is sitting. I really hate locking latchplates but continue to have to work with them. For some installs, they don't sit at the...

I was told it just had to be something of comparable value..not that I think they know what that would be. You could also buy the exact same seat, fax them the receipt, then take it back and use the...
