Re: Today's Current Event - Man Slaps Baby on Plane!?

I don't buy the phobia story. I have a phobia of spiders...I won't even get close enough to one to smack it! Also, the phobia doesn't excuse the racist comment to a baby.

What a sad excuse for a...

Re: Social Security Number

Hogan was born 12/12 and we got it yesterday. We did it in the hospital but I am sure you could call your local SS office and ask. Or call birth records at the hospital and ask.

Re: Changing crib sheets?

Just lay a receiving blanket down first and most likely if it gets peed on or spit up on it won't soak through to the sheet. Otherwise I only change the mattress pad if it gets wet too. Yeah, it's...

Re: Tilting Baby in crib?

I would prop something under her mattress to tilt it up. You can always roll a receiving blanket under her butt to help keep her from sliding down the wedge. I had to do that with DD1 but so far DS...

Re: anyone else?

Make sure her tummy is full and the room is WARM, somewhat dark and quiet. That should help. I usually put a heating pad on my pile of blankets that I use to pose babies on and take it off just...

Re: Spoiling a newborn?

You cannot spoil a newborn. They are used to being "held" and comforted 24/7 to all of a sudden being alone in the world. They need to feel secure. It is also WAY to early to CIO. You can try...

Re: Ugh the dreaded witch

I would guess that is what it is, especially if you are EBF. It happened to me and I have heard of it happening to others. You think your pp bleeding is done and it starts back up a bit for awhile....

Re: Ugh the dreaded witch

Are you sure?? With both my girls I swore I got AF back around 6w pp but it never came back after that until about 9months. It might just be leftover PP bleeding.

Re: Pacifiers

Have you given a pacifier to your LO? If not, will you? He had one in the hospital for his circ and for his hearing screen but I haven't given him one since.

What kind do you have and does baby...

Re: What is LO wearing to bed?

Gowns mostly and a swaddle-me. Sometimes if it is really cold in our room I will put a Gerber Tshirt under the gown so I don't have to deal with onesie snaps at night. We only do zipper sleepers if...

Re: Nursing in front of people?

Yep. My ILs lived with us when my first was born and I didn't want to go hide in my own home. We used a nipple shield so it was a bit of a task to get latched. If my FIL was around I just had DH...

Re: Nipple Shield

Don't stress about weaning. If it is working then keep doing it. It won't hurt to try now and then but if he doesn't want anything to do with it then don't push it. I was so stressed about...

Re: FF in back row of Chrysler T&C

That is what I was afraid of. She doesn't seem too bothered by it but I am afraid she will be more annoyed as time goes on.
