Whiners/Bby talk

Does your child(ren) still whine or talk like a baby? How old are they?

Ellie is 4.5 yrs and sometimes still whines or sounds like a baby when she talks.. Is she old enough that this should be over? I dont hardly notice it unless its bad (probably because I hear her all day long) but its driving DH nuts and he is getting on to her for it..

When should a child stop talking like a baby?

Is it something she is doing on purpose or is it just the way she talks?

My DD does this occasionally, but it is on purpose. It is more making up a weird little voice then baby talk to me tho. It drives me crazy and I always tell her to stop. She will be 8 next month.

My almost 3 year old DD whines like crazy. She drives me nuts with it. She is a very emotional child so i think it goes with her personality.

No, none of them do.
However, my 6 1/2 yr old will say words wrong cuz he thinks its funny(p.s. its not and he's told so).

Ok, so I guess it is more baby talk then whining.. Even teenagers whine.. lol

As far as if its her normal way to talk, sometimes I wonder.. Maybe its just the way she talk.. But when its bad I can tell her that I dont understand her and to talk better and she will drop the baby talk sound.

Ill have to pay attention to the way she talks now.

Yup, My ds (3) still sounds like a baby but he is still a bit young but oldest DD (almost 6) is horrible about it. She whines constantly and everything she says comes out like a two year old is saying it. She drives me mad most days and I tune it out because I can only ask her to stop and use her big girl words so many times before I about lose it. I feel like I should not have to get to eye level and tell an almost six year old child to use big girl words and not whine and cry like a toddler. I dont know if she is like this because of her issues or if she just sounds like that and its how she is but I hate it.

It never ends. Well, the whining. lol

My DD16 still whines on occasion... especially when she is not feeling well. Same with my DD6.

My DS8 has a friend who is almost 10 who constantly talks baby talk. It drives me crazy. He is the youngest in his family and the only boy, so I am guessing he does it to get attention. Whenever he comes over to play, MY son will start with the baby talk stuff and it makes my blood pressure raise. I actually grounded him from playing with this friend because the baby talk thing was so annoying.
