How long after mc did your body go back to normal?

Hi everybody, I lost my little one on July 23 2012. I was 10 weeks and 3 days. I still feel as though my body still doesn't know what on earth it is doing. I think it is trying to get back to normal.

My 1st and 2nd period after, were completely different then I used to have, my 3rd 4th 5th periods went back to normal, as I used to have before the mc. But my 6th went back to how the 1st and 2nd period was, and my last period- was almost like a miscarriage, but lasted 6 days.
Now my ovulation is basically for the first time, like it was before I lost the baby. Just now. So, I am wondering if my body is finally back to normal?
How long did it take your body to go back to normal? SORRY FOR ALL THE DETAILS!

Hi there and welcome!! I don't have any really good information to share with you on this as my loss was only a month and a half ago - but I did ask my doctor this question and she gave me the generic "everyone is different and it really is different for every single person"

I know that isnt very helpful but I wanted to say hello and wish you luck!

Hopefully your body is back on track now!!!

Hi Katrinalm!

I'm new here too, and although I don't have much to offer, I do hope your body returns to normal soon. I hope others have some insight.

Hi!
I'm Seanna. I am on my 5th cycle post-miscarriage in August, and my cycles are still a little wonky too. Like PP said, everyone is different.
One thing to keep in mind is that every pregnancy can reset your hormones and your cycles may be different now. Your body may go back to how your cycles used to be or they may find a new "normal".

I'm sorry things have been wonky for you so long! My m/c was really early and I've never had regular cycles so I don't really have an answer for you.

Hi Katrinalm,

My mc was in October 2012, I just had my first cycle in the beginning of Febuary. Prior to that, nothing except hormone fluctuations. So I am not much help either. But I was told the same generic thing by my doctor that momology said, everyone is different. And I've also heard that your body can go back to the way it was before or find a new normal, just like Schofield06 said. But I really hope you are getting on track now! I know it can be really frustrating. Good luck to you!

Sorry for your loss. I wish I could offer some insight, but I had my D&C last month and I am clueless as to if my body is back to normal or not. Have you had your DR do a hormone study on you or anything? That would probably really help you know where you at..

I'm sorry you went through this and that you are still not feeling normal. My body went back to normal immediately after our first loss.

I'm pretty sure my hormone levels have returned to normal after this loss too; it's been a week since my D&C.

Have you seen an RE or Fertility Specialist? If you are still not regular, you may want to ask your OB for a referral to more specialized OB or at least monitor your hormones throughout your cycle so you have an idea of what's going on. Good Luck.
