Sort of New with a Question

Hi, DH & have been TTC but, I try not to get too absorbed in it because, I have tendancy to obsess and get stressed. Anyway, I am having a very odd cycle. About ten days from my last period, I had two days of light bleeding/heavy spotting, no more than a panty liner. Anyway, I thought okay, well this messes up the counting but, I'll just wait until my nexy period and start counting again. Well... if I count from the first day of the first persiod I'm 22 days late and it I count the two days as a period I'm 12 days late. I took a test at 20/10 days late and nothing. Has anyone had this happen? I'm in the process of switching from my DH's old insurance to mine so, I'm not covered right now by anything but COBRA so, I would really like to not go to the doc. but, I'm kind of getting irritated by no BFP or no AF. I'm evening trying to tempt murphy's law by taking all the pads out of my purse and wearing my favorite panties (yes, I'm a wee bit desperate now.) Oh, my name ia Annie, I've been around the board for while but most in the birthmom and heated debate section.

What tests are you taking? I heard of some false positives

Re: Sort of New with a Question

I would take a first response, they are the best, and if it's still negative then when you do get your medical back it would be a good idea to note all this info and see a doctor, my cycles got like that allot and they determined that I have pcos and treated mine with metformin which did a wonderful job making my cycles normal and helping me get my bfp, Keeping my fingers crossed for you that you get that beautiful bfp soon

Re: Sort of New with a Question

I don't know what's not to trust about getting the inexpensive ones online. They're pretty well ranked if I'm remembering correctly. And that's what I use 'cause they're less expensive and I'm a POAS freak haha

I am sorry to hear that you're having a wonky cycle. Sometimes I think that our bodies like taunting us.

Best of luck on your TTC journey!

Re: Sort of New with a Question

I also wanted to add that the little tests online are usually accurate for me, the first positive i got this time was that I took an internet opk for a hpt and when it was positive I bought more tests, and I took a bunch of dollar store tests which are pretty much the same, the only reason I suggested first response is that it is a bit more sensitive, it can pick up as little as ( i think 6 miu hcg in your urine) while most internet tests and dollar store tests pick up 25 miu.

((((hugs)))) I hope you get your answer one way or the other soon, and I really hope you get your bfp.

Re: Sort of New with a Question

i wanted to add....i think it totally depends on the person who is using the test if its accurate or not! after my iui i only got + on digi tests for 2 weeks! line tests were still showing up :bfn: which had me convinced i was going to miscarry..but so far my perfect little princess is still baking away in there!!!!

i hope you get your :bfp: soon :D

Re: Sort of New with a Question

That's interesting, I guess it depends on how much hcg you're making. I've heard will older mothers the levels aren't necessarily what's expected. They had my friend convinced she was miscarrying because her levels weren't increasing the way they were supposed to and she ended up having a very healthy pregnancy and baby boy.
