Calling FETers & DEIVFers...meds/bedrest question

What meds were you on?

Did any of you use Viagra?

I'm just curious the differences in clinics. I have a friend that goes to a clinic near mine for her FET they didn't even have her on any antibiotics at all and I'm on 2! (one is because of my recent M/C though)...

I'm on:

Estrace 3 x day
Flagyl 2 x day
Doxycycline 2 x day
.05 shot of Lupron - am

just curious the diff protocols!! What was your lining at the week before transfer?

She also said they are changing their policy and no longer require bedrest for FET...because the ovaries weren't stimulated and there is no concern that the ovaries can get twisted, they no longer suggest it. I am going to anyways!! What did you do regarding bedrest?

Re: Calling FETers & DEIVFers...meds/bedrest question

My RE just suggested I rested for the rest of the day of transfer. I had my transfer on a Friday so I still just made sure I took it easy over the weekend and didn't do hours of house work or miles of walking or anything like that.

I was also on:

BCP
Luprone
Antibiotic
Estrace
Delestrogen
There was one more drug I took for 2 days - I can't remember the name it was to help me not reject the embryo.
After Transfer
PIO
Crinion

My lining was 17 at time of transfer and labels as a B for it's layers? Whatever that means! I was just mostly concerned about the 17 number. I think my RE wanted it at-least 15.

For meds, I was on estrogen (injectable), 1cc every 3rd day, and started 2cc PIO 5 days before the transfer. I also did the Estrace suppositories the week before the transfer, but still my lining was only 7.5mm the day of the transfer (I have always struggled with lining).

No antibiotics, no Viagra, no Lupron, etc. Mine was really simple.

As far as bedrest, I was told 24-hours strict bedrest after the transfer. My RE was mad I was driving myself from his office to my hotel (maybe 6 blocks)! I almost didn't listen to him but I'm glad I did...I had lots of little twinges and cramps and pulling that night and I swear my little beans were snuggling in

I think you're thinking of Medrol? I have that script too, it's just 3 or 4 pills.

I'm not stressing out about the meds, because my lining seems good. I just find it SO interesting how VERY different everyone's protocols are! (and happy! happy! how successful all the diff protocols are!!)

yes - that's the drug!
Viagra does increase blood flow down there so it makes sense it would help build a lining. I wonder how long they have been using that med for FET? When I would go to the Acup that is what she always said we were working on was increasing blood flow to the uterus! I find it interesting too :)

That's a good point re Viagra, Gretchen!! LOL

I have a moxa stick from my acup and I'm going to start tonight, heating 3 points on my lower abdomen. Thank goodness it's summer, and I can do it outside...because the moxa stick (mugwart) smells like pot, I did it the moxa in the winter inside and DH and I had to open the windows it was SO BAD. What the neighbors will think!!! haa haa...

So that should help with my lining as well :)

I don't have my FET until October. Though RE has given me a calendar, they haven't mentioned anything about bedrest yet. If I hear anything, I'll let you know. I have a long BCP lead-in, 8 weeks, then I'll be on the "reactive uterus" protocol, taking ibuprofen and xanax a week before transfer and during tww. I'll create/add my info to a Oct/November IVF/FET thread as it gets closer. GL, so hoping that this is it for you!!! :dust:
