low hcg and not doubling * updated *

Our beta was 55 on Monday. 46 hours later it was 81.2. How concerned should I be?

Melissa (kmh) has a great story about her dd and not doubling! I hope she chimes in

Re: low hcg and not doubling

With this baby between beta 1 and 2 I had 105hr doubling time. I know my first number was 69 at 8dp5dt I cannot remember what it was at the next draw but figure a 105hr doubling time (the part I can remember) so it was way lower than expected. My third draw picked up to a 45hour doubling time between beta 2 and 3... I hate betas... rising is good focus on that for right now! :)

I should also add that this was an FET as well and even my RE told me sometimes they are just slow starters which was the case for us. So far at almost 16 weeks everything else is going well.

Thank you so much! We are having another beta tomorrow. Ours was a fet as well.

Re: low hcg and not doubling

48 hour doubling time is normal, but so is 72hr doubling time! IT doesn't have to double in two days to be normal. And you can have a slower doubling time and still have a healthy baby. So, I wouldn't worry. <3

Hey Starlit! I remember you from the boards before! I think doubling time can be up to 72 hours. This was helpful to me (scroll to the bottom).

They haven't told us anything. I don't know what to do. I have increased folic acid and added more fluids (incase of dehydration). But I don't know what to do. I am so scared

Re: low hcg and not doubling

Hi ladies,

I am new to this board. I am so glad I was introduced by a friend:) anyways I am in this whole "beta game" thing right now as well. My beta was taken Friday and came back 300.6 (rejoice!) I went back todayb(4 days later) and it only doubled to 600.3 (since it was 4 days they were hoping to see it quadruple).. I go back again on Thursday. I did an FET and transferred two blasts July 24.
Some have mentioned possibly a vanishing twin...?

Reading this thread makes me feel a little better... Any other thoughts? Or ideas?

Re: low hcg and not doubling

I was pregnant with twins, and my 1st beta was 761 at 10dp5dt, and it was considered high too. I think it's very possible to have been pregnant with twins and lost one. Praying for a healthy pregnancy.
