Sleeping?

I know every baby is different, but generally when is reasonable to expext them to start going for longer between feeds and sleep for longer periods? I am exhausted with Dexter feeding every couple of hours.

Re: Sleeping?

Michaela and Daniel did it around 6 weeks, but like you say, every baby is different. Daniel was completely FF after he stayed in hospital when I was discharged, and he slept through the night from 6 weeks. Michaela is still a monkey about waking up and not settling herself back off to sleep, even when she doesn't want milk.

What did Zach and Mischa do? I'm sure it will get easier hon. :dothug:

Can James not do a night or two, even one weekend night, to let you get caught up? If you're BFing you could express a couple of bottles?

Re: Sleeping?

Zach was 10 weeks old when he started sleeping from 11pm to 7am but he did start doing longer stretches before then, I'm sure of it. Mischa was closer to 16 weeks before she started sleeping 6-8 hour stretches.

I have tried expressing (using a manual and electric pump) but I can never get very much milk off at all. Certainly no where near a full feed for Dexter anyway.

Re: Sleeping?

Rhianna started sleeping through the night and going long stretches between feeds at just 9 weeks old! Lacey however was 2 years before she slept through the night, up until that point she was having milk in the night, she would scream all hours aswell, during the day though she would go 4 hours in between feeds. Lucas started sleeping through the night at 2 years aswell and would have 2 bottles during the night, he went 3 hours during the day.
Connor is 10 weeks he takes 6oz every 2.5 hours sometimes 3!!! it's driving me mad, he is on hungry baby milk already, i may have to up him to 7oz very soon, he only just gone to 6oz though lol

Re: Sleeping?

Goodness me, I hope it doesn't take Dexter two years before he starts sleeping through the night!
Sounds like Connor is a very hungry baby! So is Dexter, it feels like he's permanently attached to my boob!
