Thanksgiving, A Little Late

I’d planned all week on putting together a massive thankful post. I was going to have a billion points – or at least, one for nearly every day this month from a challenge to post one thing a day I was thankful for. I was going to post pictures, lots and lots of pictures.

None of it happened, and now here I am on my work laptop in my inlaws’ house without photos or the time to craft an epic post.

I feel like summing it all up by simply saying I am thankful for so, so much. For my family, for my friends, for doctors and therapists and technology and all of the “simple” things that to some aren’t so simple. I’m thankful for cochlear implants, even if Danny isn’t doing nearly as well as most of the other kids I read about online. (I read one blog saying last year their son couldn’t hear at Thanksgiving, this year they were putting 2 word phrases together. I only wish!!) I am thankful he’s got the opportunity. I am thankful that we can still believe, eventually, he’ll get there.

Above all though, I’m thankful for the love in my life. It comes from many sources, and I’m pretty darned lucky.

To everyone out there, no matter if this weekend is a holiday or not, Happy Thanksgiving – because it’s never a bad time to be thankful for the things and the people in our lives. As for me, I’m going back to conversation, play, and watching Danny and Eric race up and down a staircase laughing like crazy. I promise there will be pictures… Just not right now.
