Food Fun Friday: The Ultimate Caramel Apple Dessert Pizza

Want to have a delicious apple treat but don’t have the time to make apple pie? Then you’ve come to the right place. If you don’t have all the ingredients listed below, run out and get them now. This is THAT good.

You will need:

  • Pre-cooked pizza crust
  • Apple pie filling
  • Caramels
  • One tablespoon of milk
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Cinnamon
  • Cinnamon Chex (or substitute your favorite flavor)
  • White chocolate candy melts

We used a mini gluten free pizza crust for our pizza. All the other ingredients are gluten free, though some people are more sensitive to gluten than others, so please check the ingredients yourself if you can’t eat gluten. If gluten is not an issue, just use a normal pizza crust.

If you want to make this for a larger group, use a larger crust. If you are making the crust yourself, you will want to bake it first before adding your toppings.

Spoon apple pie filling onto the crust. You will want to cover the crust with the filling, like you would do with sauce on a pizza.

Next, sprinkle on some cinnamon.

Add some mini marshmallows.

Next comes the caramel. You can use caramel syrup but we made our own using caramel candy. Melt the candy in a bowl in the microwave (we set the microwave to 50% and checked it every 30 seconds or so, stirring each time) and add one tablespoon of milk to thin it out a bit. It is now ready to drizzle on the pizza.

We crushed some Cinnamon Chex and added it as a crunchy topping to our pizza.

Here’s how it looked before we put it in the oven. We baked it at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.

When it was finished, we melted some white candy melts in the microwave and drizzled that over our pizza. Hungry yet?

This was a big hit with the kids and adults. It took about 15 minutes to make, start to finish, which is great when you have impatient kids asking “Is it ready yet?”
