Thanksgiving is tomorrow and like many, we will be eating the traditional menu of turkey, potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Well, the adults at least. My kids are not fans of pumpkin pie. I am hoping to change that this year and when I saw this adorable Thanksgiving craft in my daughter’s preschool class, I thought it was a good way to start.
You will need:
- Paper plate
- Orange and brown paint
- Pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon
- Gold glitter
- Cotton ball
Cut a pie sized wedge out of the paper plate. I used a heavier paper plate with a sizable lip that looked like a slice of pie.
Provide your child with two paint cups, one with brown paint and one with orange paint. I actually added a little brown to my orange paint cup to make the orange a little darker. They can paint the “crust” part of the paper plate brown. You can put another plate under the “pie” so paint doesn’t get on the table.
Sprinkle on some pumpkin pie spice. Cinnamon works well too. Just don’t shake too hard or you will have a ton of spice on your pie.
Hope you saved room for pie! Not only does this look adorable, it adds a nice Fall scent to the room.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! May God bless you.
