I rarely buy myself items to pamper myself, so a few weeks ago I was on pinterest and saw some DIY scrubs and I made a few. I gave one to my cousin because I really don’t like the face mask thingy, but the other ones I have used a few times. Not to mention how much money you’d save!
1/2 cup granulated sugar—raw or brown sugar with larger granules works too
2 tablespoons almond oil (you can also substitute apricot, olive, or jojoba oi)
Juice of half a lemon
OPTIONAL: 3 drops lavender, mint, or rosemary
This scrub is great for heels, knees and elbows!
In a larg bowl, combine all of the ingredients in no particular order and immediately massage the mixture onto hands or feet. You can add a few drops of lavender, mint, or rosemary oil to invigorate and refresh. Rinse off with warm, then slather on your favorite lotion for extra moisture.
DIY Face Mask:
2 Tbls Honey
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Nutmet
This mask is for calming and soothing for stressed-out skin!
Mix all ingredients until the consistency is like a thick paste. After it’s all mixed, apply the mask to your face and let it sit for 30 minutes. Wash it off with warm water, scrubbing softly in circular motion for exfoliation.
2 Tbls cornmeal
2 Tbls mashed avocado or avocado oil
Got a rough patch? You can repeat once or twice a week for maximum softening.
Mix ingredients in a small bowl until they form a paste. Apply to feet, working the gritty paste into calluses and rough spots as well as around your toes. Rinse with warm water and dry feet thoroughly.
Lemon Facial Toner
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
grated zest of one lemon
1 cup distilled water (any water should do)
2/3 cup witch hazel (you can get this at any drugstore)
Lemon is a great gem that is high in Vitamin C and an antioxidant which is great for exfoliant, blackhead remover and brightens the skin!
Add ingredients into a big size (glass) bottle, shake well before use, apply with cotton balls until face is clean. Keeps one month. – LiveStrong.com
