HesperleighHello! This is Hesper (yes, that's my real name, it's Greek and means first evening star... you were wondering, right?!). I am a 27-year-old mother of a strong-willed but hilarious toddler, "step-monster" to a couple of teen/pre-teen dudes, and "trophy wife" of an adoring hubby. Presently I live in sunny Florida, but I'm longing for the mountains, the wind in my hair, the crisp air, the sounds of the babbling creek, oh wait a minute, that's me babbling, soooo, back to the present... My day jobs are as a full-time administrative assistant, doting mama and part-time novice crafter, though not necessarily in that order. My motivation is anything chocolate. Seriously, I can't go a day without it. My inspiration is life and the joy of being a mama, including the good times and even the trying times! I hope we can become fast friends and share some exceptional, or at least entertaining, moments along the way.

Making A Difference

I came across this quote today, and I just felt compared to share it. It’s pretty self-explanatory as to why. I know each of us, at times, feels like we cannot make a difference on our own. How often does that little voice creep up inside your head telling you, “Why bother? Nobody cares what…

Thankful Tuesday

This hasn’t been the best day, or week for that matter. I have been dealing with some crap lately, and I’m totally in a funk right now. I really trying not to whine or throw myself a big, weepy, whiny pity party, but it’s haaaard…. see?! Anyway, these feelings are mostly related to things I…

Embrace the Camera

Embracing the camera again today! I love joining up with this group for two reasons. 1. It forces me to take more pictures (or rather, make other people take them) of myself with Haeden. 2. I actually get (and give, of course) comments on my blog. I would be lying if I said it didn’t…

A Monster in My Bed

I think I may have recently made a really big parenting mistake. It doesn’t seem like there is any turning back now. I’m pretty sure I’ve created a monster. A monster… in my bed. (This was taken months ago… He must have been planning it all along.) It’s amazing how quickly it happens, too. Google…

Embrace the Camera

Here we go again, linking up with Emily… Here’s a shot of me and Haeden from our pool time on Sunday. I’m absolutely loving the fact that he’ll be learning to swim in the same pool that I did. It’s pretty fun having four generations all together each Sunday for “pool day!” I feel truly…

PEECTURES!

Normally when I whip out the camera (or phone) to snap a picture of my adorable little dude, he stops whatever he is doing, whips his head around, and sticks his hand in the general direction of me and said camera. “NOOOOO, Mommy, NOOOOO!” You’d think it was some sort of torture device. Imagine my…

Embrace the Camera

Emily’s blog is up and running again, which means she’s back to embracing the camera. Hopefully she is feeling much, much better these days. Or, at the very least, feeling human again. Sometimes making beautiful babies is hard work, you guys! There is a tiny little community center in our neighborhood. It was built in…

The Weekend in Photos

Today, I want to tell you about my weekend. More specifically, Sunday, because Saturday was spent watching movies, sweating my butt off at a zumba class, and driving all over NE Florida looking for a place to eat dinner (we settled for Hooters, go figure). I’m feeling a little lazy today though, so I’m going…
