How the Octomom Changed my Life

I have been following Nadya Suleman’s  story, otherwise known as the octomom, since it came out.  I knew from day one that something wasn’t right with her story because of how vague her doctors were about what kind of treatment she received to get pregnant with so many babies.  At first I thought she went out of the country for treatment or self medicated.  I was a little shocked when I heard that she had an American doctor.  As I watched and followed the story, I couldn’t help but think about myself. My husband and I have four kids and we have been trying for baby number five since August 07.  I had my second ectopic pregnancy in November 07 and lost twins and my right fallopian tube at that time.  Ever since then I have been wanting another baby,…

It’s Okay to Be a Mommy with a Big Mouth

Many of you may not realize this but I have a big mouth.  I don’t mean that I am chatty either.  I have a hard time keeping my opinions to myself and struggle to keep myself in check.  I often find myself reacting quickly to something and blurting out my thoughts only to later regret whatever it was that I thought I needed to say. I went downstairs to the basement to put wood in our wood furnace.  Meanwhile, my daughter is upstairs by herself.  Keep in mind this was maybe five minutes of time.  When I get upstairs I noticed she had drug her…

Why don’t you just quit mommy?

The other day after hearing me complain about struggling to keep up with my school work and everything else and how tired I was, my daughter asked me why don’t I just quit? I was sitting there asking myself the same thing as I tried to answer her.

If at first you don’t succeed… try drinking more coffee

The reason I titled my post if at first you don’t succeed is because I have tried many things and failed the first time, the second time, the third time, and then finally got it right by the fourth or fifth time. So many times I see moms give up on something they want to do because they failed at it the first time or felt like they failed at it. Instead of persisting and saying I can do it, they say “whelp I tried that and it didn’t work for me.”
