I can't answer for anyone else - but I can answer this concept. There is a difference between holding your own personal beliefs & believing you should enforce your personal beliefs on other people. As much as I would like to be able to whole heartedly say I am pro-life, I don't think ME being pro-life should effect YOU although I cannot imagine a single scenario where I would choose to abort, I cannot feel good trying to legislate my beliefs on other people that believe differently than I do. I don't see Christians out there trying to stop "convenience" divorces, shut down the porn industry, picketing in front of strip clubs, etc. If the Christian idea is a "Sin is a sin" then those things should at least be hitting the radar I would think. Yet no one expect Christians to be outraged about those things. Instead if you are a Christian that believes that you don't want to force others to conform to your Christian ideas when it comes to abortion, suddenly people are confused by that.

My political stances are based on the fact that I respect that my country is made up of people of all types of beliefs systems. I don't want someone else out there to be able to make me do things or prevent me from doing things based on their religion, so why should I feel comfortable taking a political stance that does that exact thing to others? Instead I believe that my true calling is to be true to MY belief system in MY life & to allow others to walk their own path whether I life the path they walk or not.
