I'd tend to go more toward Dr. Sears as well... But I think you should pick up a variety of books. Honestly, I had one - What To Expect The First Year - and used it exactly once. I couldn't remember what my LC told me about waking a baby up to nurse and keeping her awake so my mom and I pulled it out. To me, parenting is trial and error and figuring out what works for you and your baby and family. Books only seem to give you one "idea" of "how things should be" and when what's going on for you doesn't fit their idea you get more frustrated.
