OK so technically this is cookery. But it's a nice one to do and you can make them very pretty and decorative.

For children of any age, even tots can do bits and pieces of this with your supervision. The youngest I have ever personally done it with is 2-3 year-old preschool kids.

You need:
A box of cornflakes or rice krispies
A large block of chocolate (regular chocolate is cheaper than cooking chocolate and works just as well by the way)
Mini eggs, I would say about 3 packets
Cake cases

Decorative chicks

1. Place the chocolate in a glass bowl. Fill a pan with water. Place the glass bowl on top of the pan and boil the water. Gradually melt the chocolate.
(Don't try to cheat and put it in the microwave. I have. Ugh, ugh, ugh!)
2. Put about half the box of cereal in a mixing bowl. Pour in the melted chocolate and mix. This is where your LO can help. You can gauge yourself whether you need to add more cereal. I tend to use about half a box with a large block of choc.
3. Spoon a blob of the mixture into each cake case. Amounts and how you shape it is down to personal preference. I tend to pretty much fill the case and spoon out a hollow in the middle. Your LO may be able to help with this.
4. Place 2-3 mini eggs of different colours in the middle of each cake while the chocolate is still sticky.
5. If decorating with a chick, place the chick atop the nest while the chocolate is still sticky.
6. Leave to set. (Don't put them in the fridge to set - the chocolate goes all funny.)

If I get around to this at Easter I'll update with photos x
