Do you normally let your child's fever ride it out or do you tend to go right for the mortin or tylenol when he/she spikes a fever?

Re: Fevers
I definitely give Tylenol right away. Natasha is MISERABLE even with a tiny fever, meaning she bursts into tears over random things and I know she has a fever without even having to take her temp.

Re: Fevers
We let them ride it out unless it is super high. Otherwise, we feel their body is doing what it should be doing

Re: Fevers
For the older three of my kids, I let it ride unless they are very uncomfortable and it's interfering with sleep. Adrian gets medicated for the slightest fever because he is prone to febrile seizure activity.

Re: Fevers
I drug them, I don't like fevers and my kids get miserable when hot

Re: Fevers
Ride it out, I don't medicate until its around 101. (Unless she's super miserable, but she doesn't normally get that way until over 101).

Re: Fevers
I give Tylenol or Motrin immediately. Wynston has a tendancy to spike high fevers, as high as 106..........yes, so I make sure I take all precautions. After reading an article about the girl who took Motrin, had an allergic reaction where it destroyed 90% of her skin, blinded her, makes me to start looking into a more holistic method.

Re: Fevers
I try to hold off on all meds unless really necessary. I see fevers as an important part of ridding the body of sickness.

Re: Fevers
I hardly ever come to this board, but saw the topic on fevers.
Both kids got sick this week and usually I don't go straight for the Motrin or Tylenol but I've had to give Benjamin a combination of Tylenol and Motrin. He's been to the Dr's 2x this week and they can't find anything wrong. Most likely he got hit twice. By Monday he goes back to the Dr's for a blood draw if his fever persists.

Re: Fevers
Aww, I hope he feels better ASAP and you can get to the bottom of things.
