Weight gain
Are you having appointments every 2 weeks now?

How much are you gaining in between appointments?

I read that for my weight I should be gaining 1/2 pound each week at this point. That would give me 5 more lbs to gain. I lost 16 in the beginning and I've gained about 8 of that back, so at the end I should have gained 13 lbs, with is still 3 lbs less than I was when I first got pregnant. Seems so unlikely. Where do you stand with your weight gain?

Re: Weight gain
Yeah, I've been having 2 week appointments for about a month now.

I've gained 9 lbs so far. I started out at 205 and I'm at 214 now. For my height and weight, I'm right on track. It says that at this point, considering my starting weight, I should be between 213 and 220. So I'm at the low end of that. It says that I should be gaining between .37 & .66 lbs per week for the rest of my pregnancy and that my end weight should be 216-225 lbs. I'm hoping not to go over 220.

When DD was born, I weighed 25 lbs less the day after. That's on the high side, I think most people lose between 12-15 lbs, depending on the size of the baby. I was also in labour for several days without eating or sleeping, so there was probably a little weight loss from that. I'm hoping that this time I lose about the same amount of weight from the birth, and hopefully I'll end up about 10 lbs lighter than my pre-pregnancy weight. :) A girl can dream, right?

Re: Weight gain
I gained 29 lbs so far which I'm actually really excited about and seem to be on track to be around 33-35lbs up when baby is born. So happy! With my first I gained 70 lbs. I lost 30 lbs before I even left the hospital so I'm interested to see how much I lose this time from delivery.

Re: Weight gain

Re: Weight gain
I am up 20lbs as of today! So if the 1/2lb guideline holds true for me, than I should be on track to gain about 24lbs total, which would be right where I should be for the pregnancy. I am pretty happy with that :D

Re: Weight gain
I have my next appt at the end of next week, and my doctor has been seeing me every 3 wks for the last month and a half or so. So far, I have gained 35 pounds, but at my last appt I had gained only 1 lb in 3 weeks, so I was suprised about that! I have a history of gaining huge amounts in pregnancy, so I am not doing too bad in comparision with my other pgs!

Re: Weight gain
Well i started out at 132 and i am up to 165.... 33 lbs so far, which is pretty normal for me. I weighted 175 when i had my last baby. looking about the same for this little one!

Re: Weight gain
I will have 1 2-week appointment after my next appt on May 3rd, and then weekly from there on out. I gained 4lbs between my last 2 appts which put me up 8lbs overall. I haven't had much appetite lately at all, and have had to force myself to eat many days, so I'm curious to see what my weight gain is at my next appt. Apparently my doctor thinks I should have gained more than that by now, but I'm overweight to begin with and baby is growing just fine.

With my first I gained *gulp* 65lbs. Yeah =\ And with my 2nd I gained just under 20, so I'm pretty much on track to gain about the same this time around.

Re: Weight gain
I am on the two week appointment. They have not said a word to me about weight. With our other two, I gained between 25 and 30. I usually gain the most from weeks 20 to 35 and then nearly nothing. I probably am nearly 1 pound per week at this point. I think when you get close to 40 years of age there doc is quiet concerning weight :p This sounds awful. It is kinda like - look I am older than 1/2 of the doc who treat. I definitely have more pg experience. I know what I am doing. Do not harp on what I do. I have no patience for it. :p

Re: Weight gain
I'm down to every 2 weeks here also. Based on my starting weight, my dr told me I should gain about 1lb per week from here on out. I've gained 21 so far so that would put me right around 30lbs if I can hold it to that lol. I would thrilled because that would be the least I've ever gained during pregnancy.

Re: Weight gain
Yes I go every 2 weeks now and have gained about 20lbs, hoping to only gain 5 more in the next few weeks

Re: Weight gain
I've busted my weight limit...no excuse but I've been crazy stressed and stress eating is old habit of mine =(

Had an appt last Friday and was up 35lbs at 29w3d - my hopeful total was 30lbs. 30w tomorrow so I'm praying I can stay under 40.

With DS, I gained 100lbs by the time I entered the hospital, so I know I'm WAY ahead of the game with this LO, but I'm still disappointed in myself for going over. I was holding my weight well until the last 4 weeks *rolls eyes*

Oh and I'm part of the 2wk appt club now =)

Re: Weight gain
I'm going every 2 weeks now. And so far I've gained 23lbs, and that's all in the last couple months. I'm hoping it'll slow down (I gained 5lbs between my last two appointments, and they were 2 weeks apart...) and I won't go past 30.

KellBell2621 April 15th, 2013 02:18 PM

Re: Weight gain
as of my last appt i gained 7 lbs total..but i had lost 9 in the beginning so i still have 2 more lbs to gain to get back to that. my weight is very high so i only need to gain between 11-15. i'm 29 weeks so even if i gain about a lb week at this point thats okay. i know i've been eating well so i'm not worried. i'm also trying to go for walks every day that the weather is nice.

i'm on 3 week visits for now, but that last month i'll go weekly.

Re: Weight gain
I also have appointments every 2 weeks.

I've gained 21 pounds as of my appointment a week and a half ago. My doctor hasn't mentioned my weight or recommended weight gain once, so I'm assuming I'm doing okay. I was kind of overweight to begin with, so every appointment I expect a lecture, but as of yet I haven't heard a peep.

QueenCrafty April 15th, 2013 07:24 PM

I'm starting 2 week appointments now too. As of my last appointment I was up 12 pounds. It will probably be about 15 at my appointment tomorrow, but we'll see. I'm not worried about weight gain. I was at a normal weight before getting pregnant and I've stayed active during the pregnancy. I gained nearly 40 with my first and 28 with my second. I should get to 20-25 lbs by the end of this one

Re: Weight gain
I have an appt tomorrow then I start 2 weeks. As of my last appt, I was up exactly 30 pounds. I gained 55 with DD, so I know I'm doing better this time. Hoping not to go over 40 pounds. If my scale at home is right (which I think it is), I've gained about 2 1/2 pounds since my last appt which is fine with me.
